Now I want to know who in this the year 2024 is not porting over numbers? If you can't port my number in, I don't want your subpar technology. Nowhere in my post did I say any company COULD NOT port a number. Re-read or stop being loud and wrong. You used to be sharper than this back in the day. Keep up with that or get it checked. Hey twatapotumus? It was a joke and not even an insult at you. And you did say that and if you want to know why people left- this fucking shit right here.

The forum was packed when there was daily mess and drama for well over a decade. So nah, find someone or something else to blame.

So nobody has mint? Their pricing looks tempting but I'm still skeptical. Sounds like I might not get much better than what we pay now with ATT. Also, I've purchased my last two phones off Amazon's certified refurbished site. I'll never pay full price for a phone again. I have mint. I have the 12-month plan and I pay $240 a year. It's broken down into three yearly payments. I switched from Verizon and when I first did, I did get people say that the call quality wasn't good only from inside my house. But I text 99.9% of the time anyway and I haven't heard anyone say that in a couple years at this point so maybe things have gotten better. When I'm out and about away from my house. I've never had any complaints about the call quality from anyone I talk to. I can't ever go back to paying Verizon money for cell service.

Have you thought about calling Verizon and seeing what they can do for you? I recently had to call them about an issue with the shipping of my new phone and one of the reps "found" that I qualified for a loyalty discount that saves me $25/month for a year. If you don't want to switch it couldn't hurt to ask.

They can be helpful at times.

If you don't want to switch it couldn't hurt to ask. Yeah, try this. It's amazing what they will "find" when you act like you're ready to dip out. MH does this on occasion. Just pay attention to the time periods or terms so you're not surprised when they run out or change

Well my husband does, and I tried it out and need to switch but haven't gotten it together to do so. Do you need unlimited data? My H has 15GB plan and since he works from home he doesn't need massive amounts of data. We live in a remote place and it works nearly as good as Verizon does. They were super helpful with switching over too. Like decent customer service and walked you through it step by step if you needed. (My boneheaded H messed it up and they fixed it for him) You can test it out by temporarily paying for a line and adding it to your existing phone (if your phone allows a second line) I did this and could see both connections on my phone screen and easily compare which one had a better connection. I will add a screen shot later when I am on my phone. When you go to switch and want to keep your number I think you have to go back to Verizon and ask them for a code to be able to port it over but it was straightforward enough according to my H

I also tried out Visible which is a mint like service from verizon and it oddly wasn't as good.

I agree with others to check in your area. I have learned that there are no pros to stay with a company forever. I am also not a person that is married to a cell phone number. I used to be that person, and it just caused me to stay longer and overpay. I am not doing that anymore. It's not really that big of a deal when I have changed my number either. Everyone doesn't need or get the new number. Now I want to know who in this the year 2024 is not porting over numbers? If you can't port my number in, I don't want your subpar technology. I ported my US cell number to Google voice before we moved. I've had the number since I was 15 so even if I didn't use it I wanted nobody else to have it ☺️ But it's actually been quite useful for some 2fapurposes and texting with friends who don't want to use WhatsApp.

Very sad. Anyway". We had options at least though.

I would suggest really checking into T-Mobile first. T-Mobile is the worst in our area. H is thinking of switching. He had Sprint and then T-Mobile took over. My mil can barely get calls in her apartment or it sounds like she is a robot a lot. So far Verizon is the best around here but for sure I pay for it. But for me, dd, and dd’s iPad and we still owe on DD’s phone and I do the Disney+ through them and I think Apple Music and I pay about $240 and I don’t do the automatic pay so I think your price is going to be about the same anywhere It's so very regional for this. I could switch, but I end up in the boonies and me and the other Verizon users are the only ones with a hint of a signal. I tether off my phone's hotspot to run events. Verizon it is. I've had others offer theirs and their data get throttled way too fast and the connection is slow even before then. So. I stay with my pricey overlord. We are one. All hail Verizon.

We use a local carrier because they own all of the towers here, and if theres an emergency like the earthquake a few years back, they prioritize their customers.
A lot of people are switching to starlink for internet, because internet is not available in a lot of areas and starlink works and is cheaper.

This thread actually motivated me to switch to mint, lol. $100 for 3 months for me and SO. Of course I guess it doubles that after the first three months but still a good deal.
Although I did just start DD on the bark phone so that’s $60 per month. Still cheaper than what I was paying before for the 3 of us.
I actually just learned about US mobile, which is another cheaper phone plan, but instead of just being stuck with one set of towers (t mobile, att, Verizon), you can “teleport” to whichever one you want if you’re in a terrible area for a certain one. I might try that one after these three months.
