Starting off this week and month with some good news. The updated Novovax booster has been approved and is expected in pharmacies as early as the end of the week.
It will also be available in more pharmacies and should be easier to find/get, so that helps too.

I feel morally obligated to get the vaccine- like vaccinations and science feel like a core part of my identity. And yet each vaccine I am as sick as when I had Covid. We’re talking 5 days of high fevers, body aches, headaches, absolute misery. It’s a real struggle to get myself to go for the vaccine when it’s brutal on my body. Yet I also can’t bring myself to not get it.

I'm sorry mb3, that makes for a really tough choice. Have you tried the Novovax one before? It tends to not be as rough as the mrna ones (Pfizer and Moderna) with fewer symptoms/reactions. For anyone interested in the science behind it and some studies on the vaccines efficacy:

I wasn’t sure but managed to find it in MyChart and it seems I’ve had Pfizer all 5 times. I’ll take a look at this- thank you for sharing. As much as I whine about the dilemma I (obviously) have gone ahead and done it each time so I know I will again. Fingers crossed this one goes much easier.

mb3 I've had Moderna several times and Novovax once and while I wasn't super ill with any symptoms with my Moderna shots, Novovax was like nothing happened. Hopefully it will be much easier on you if that's what you choose. If you read down into the (super long) thread in the spoilered part, he goes into why Novovax is much easier on people than the mrna ones. The short of it is, it acts more on the body like a yearly flu shot, so symptoms tend to be fewer or even non existent. Good luck with whatever you decide. ❤️

I am at a festival in Independence, MO, and the amount of Trump signs and flags and shirts I have seen is disheartening. I mean, I know I live in a blue pocket in my city, but the “I’m voting for the felon” shirts I have seen really suck. I did see the Harris/Walz booth, but it wasn’t nearly as crowded.

Yeah, there are definitely still areas going hard for #45. But there also seems to be a movement towards visible support in some unexpected places.

There’s a random stand here that sets up in one of the grocery parking lots that has that merch. Including a flag with that saying. DH and I roll our eyes every time we drive by. I can’t imagine putting that on my house.

It doesn’t help that I was already having a rough mental health week and am STILL trying to find a new therapist. I am very doom and gloom over here right now and struggling to find joy in anything right now. I feel like Riley at the end of Inside Out and dragging myself out of it seems so daunting right now.

You know me - I'm a walking Big Pharma experiment 😂

We have electronic billboards on 95 and in the past 10 days I counted 5 Trump ads (I've been doing a lot of driving for work). My fave is "Trump: Protecting Our Families." Whose families? Where? The bald faced lie of it all.
I can't give it any mental space, just flip the bird and keep driving. I have to believe there are more of us than them.

Every time I see/hear I’m voting for the felon I laugh. For being the party who thinks they are all about law and order they are all for voting for a criminal. And they don’t even realize they contradict themselves.
