I saw a WaPo headline that mega donors have so far put $1.5 BILLION into this election cycle. JFC.
(I didn't read the article to see who and where since I don't have a subscription.)

angelashly It's bullshit. I hope the appeal is successful. Kentucky says he has a right to a gun and the right to protect himself. If they hadn't lied on a warrant and if they had announced themselves, he wouldn't have felt the need to fire his gun. I feel so badly for him. Her family, too. But you know he has to carry around a lot of guilt, even though he truly isn't at fault. 100%

Top four are republican. 1. Timothy Mellon - Railroad magnate and heir at $165M 2. Kenneth Griffin - Hedge Fund Manager at $75.7M 3. Jeff & Janine Yass - Financier and charter school education advocate at $73.9M 4. Richard & Elizabeth Uihlein - Shipping magnates at $70.7M 5. Michael Bloomberg at $41M The Uihleins were noted as the founders of Uline, a shipping and packaging materials company. And they devote their $ to causes outside the GOP mainstream, which serves to push the party further to the right.

When people donate money to a campaign, they are exponentially more likely to vote because they have skin in the game and don’t want to “throw away” their money. Harris/Walz have millions of $10 donors who now have skin in the game versus Trump who still only gets 4 votes from all this wasted money.

I look to wealthy donors like this, knowing that they're the ones working to shift not just one election, but an entire generation of the political climate in the U.S. It's kind of scary that some people beleive so strongly in closed minded policies that they'll put millions into limiting the futures of others. Except for the unborn, because I guess those are the only real futures many of these MAGA conservatives care about.

Will find a (hopefully less terrible) alternative

The thing is, it’s not always that they believe in these closed minded policies, it’s that they don’t want to pay any taxes and want to hoard their wealth. They don’t care about the rest of us. They’re still getting abortions, they just pay to get to one or a doctor to them.

Will find a (hopefully less terrible) alternative I have tried SO HARD to stop ordering from Uline. I've made incremental moves away from them, but the thing that really sucks is that their company is really well run. I have been ordering from them for 15+ years and they have never once in all of those years made a mistake on an order. Like, what? I tried WB Mason for about 6 months and every single order was messed up (I still get office supplies from them, but they can't do shipping supplies to save their life). I recently moved to all paper void fill, wraps and tape and I get those from a different company. And anything that I think that I can reasonably get from elsewhere I research and get elsewhere. I'm trying to move all of my shipping boxes away, but it's $$$$$$$$. But I really don't like how much I still get from Uline.

Did....did C-SPAN just join the resistance? . @jdvance : "Kamala Harris is so asleep at the wheel that she won't even do an investigation into what happened and she wants to give Donald Trump because he showed up, she can go to hell!"

Amazing. I'm still confused as to why it was such a scandal (not really, I know why). *sigh*
