I don’t think anyone saying Biden was awful last night is saying they are voting for Trump. I think they are saying our candidate sucks and the optics of last night were bad. People are allowed to criticize the dude even if they are going to ultimately vote for him. I want off this ride. I want both to go away.

Why are they just letting him spew lies? Fuck man. Come on! What even was the point of having moderators? They may as well have had Siri read the questions.

"I don't know where the hell he has been, to think anything he just said was true." Talking about HBCUs, the cleanest water and energy? All weird mind jumps. The best H2O!

Fucking genocide supporters in here. Distraught that your genocider president did bad. Fucking gross man. Do you only come in here to troll? Eta: I am genuinely not trying to be unkind or to post police, but it seems, to me, that you very occasionally turn up, post something highly provocative or rude to another poster, and then vanish. You've been here a long time and I hate to see what looks like pot stirring be your primary contribution.

Funny but it’s not. What a freaking mess. I’ll vote Biden no matter what. I’ll vote Biden on his deathbed, but this is something else…

But then she does whatever this bullshit is. We all know that this part of the forum almost blew up based on the convos we had supporting Palestine in here. But that's not good enough for her ivory tower. Never mind she doesn't know shit about what we do on our own time or dime. We are just genocide supporting sheep because we aren't her! So this frustrating and disingenuous bullshit just exhausts me. None of us are happy with Biden's stance on Palestine. But we also don't want everything to burn as it would under trump. Eta: I'm genuinely trying to be a cunt. Just matching her energy.

Oh, the one who drops one liners and context free links, actively spreads misinformation, and I'm pretty sure is a perfect person who has never done anything wrong nor had a problematic fave? Also, performs outrage with the best of them but can only resort to attacks during discussions of complex geopolitical topics. I would hazard a guess that "beautiful revolution" is what they're hoping for, forgetting that most revolutions are bloody and violent and most often the violence is reserved for the most marginalized people in society.

Biden was already technically nominated right? By phone to get on the ballot in OH?
These articles all feel like grabs for clicks and I'm not giving in. Short something really catastrophic nothing is changing. I know we're pretty much all in the same boat in our disappointed but it is what it is sentiments.

I was thinking earlier about how the UK’s election next week was only just announced. I think enough people could get motivated behind a new candidate in time. But idk I don’t think it’s going to happen.

Also remember Ohio's ballot deadline happens before the Dem convention.

Theres no reason for our election seasons to last as long as they do.

I think I shared this here before, but when we went to the Benjamin Harrison museum in Indy last year they talked about how short the political season was and how promoting yourself before being nominated was frowned upon. The conventions were held in June and that was the start of the campaign season No 24/7 news, maybe you read a few articles and whatnot. What a dream

But idk I don’t think it’s going to happen. It's not going to happen because that's not how elections work here. There will not be a different candidate on either side and we are stuck with a two party system on the national level. I don't understand this weird wishful thinking about a new candidate I keep seeing all over the internet. I feel like I'm on acid.

RE: Ohio and nomination confusion
I know I shared an article about a virtual nomination if Ohio didn't change something. I think someone else shared that Ohio did indeed change that something.

Excuse my ignorance here, but I’m just making sure…
If Biden wins the election, and either A) immediately steps down or B) kicks the bucket, Kamala will become President by default, yes?
Because if that’s so, that’s going to be my positive spin that gets me through this LOL.
(And before anyone @s me, I am fully aware that she isn’t the best candidate either, but she’s better than what we’ve got.)

I run our county campaign office for a group of dem candidates 2 days a week, one of which is our candidate for U.S senator. (I’m in a swing state and our senate race is within the margin of error at the moment). We had a quickly scheduled meeting this morning as a follow-up to the debate. The feeling is all down ballot candidates are fucked. I cannot even tell you how awful the vibe was this morning.
I know I sound like a broken record, but if you can, donate money asap to any dem candidate, even if it’s only $2. The money means the most, of course, but the number of unique donors every month is also tracked and knowing there is still support helps keep the volunteers motivated.

Genocide is the worst thing you can do. You vote for a genocider, whatever the reason, you’re supporting genocide. Gross.
And whatever we allow to happen in Gaza, is coming for us too. Our police already train with IDF. Gaza is the testing ground, then it is implemented here. Now. With the 100,000 more cops Biden wants.
But you all want to prioritize your comfort over the massacre of an entire people.
I see you lurking my stories 😘 Keep watching.

Since you’re shit stirring, what is your suggestion that’s NOT supportive of genocide? Let’s be real- we are not getting a President who is not a Republican or a Democrat. Both major parties as well as these two specific candidates support Israel. Perhaps you’d rather RFK kill everyone with a lack of vaccines?
