It is Monday right? It's my day off, I was supposed to have an ultrasound on Thursday but called first thing and I'm getting it done in a few minutes. After I plan to go to Starbucks and do some grocery shopping, maybe a nap later. My mom comes back from Cuba today.
There's a thread on another board about book recommendations for 2-3 yr olds. I put a bunch of books on hold at the library, I'm excited to read them to DD now that she can sit for a longer period of time.

DD and I are just going to hang out around home today, maybe go visit my sister at work and/or go to the park. I need to dust the upstairs and clean the upstairs bathrooms today too. Maybe do a load of laundry. Nothing too thrilling over here!

We have a heat advisory most of this week. We have no air conditioning. We have agreed to not buy unnecessary things in the month of August. I want to cry already thinking about this week. I moved here in part because DH promised me mild summers.

August Blooms Eeeek! Excited for you! Please share here when you know 😀 Today was an okay start to the week. DS has been a little cranky, which I think is due to him getting his last 2 molars. I can hear him grinding his teeth and he was biting on his shirt/drooling all day. The teeth grinding sound is the woooooorst. 2 more days until DH gets back from America! We're doing alright without him, but it will be so nice to have him back home safe and sound. ETA: trinitrotoluene Like is for commiseration - it is so hot where we live...I get really sick of it sometimes.

I'm giddy for you August Blooms! It is Monday, all right. And it is the Monday we've been dreading. DH's football season officially starts today with Day 1 of practice. It is exciting but also sad as we move back into the school grind and football schedule. It is crazy because we've been looking toward the start of this school year/football season as a checkpoint, knowing baby time was just around the corner when we got to this point. Two months out, yes. But it'll be here before we know it with the hustle and bustle that football brings to our lives. Whoa.....!

I'm 32 weeks today. 8 to go. But, I mean, for serious... I had a total meltdown this morning. Glad I have therapy this week. I just feel like there is so much I wanted to do in the house, and for myself, and for/with DD (we haven't touched potty training or a big girl bed), and just... it all came up so fast. And I'm the kind of person who, when I'm overwhelmed, just shuts down and does nothing. I also feel like I've connected so much less with my family during this pregnancy, I don't even know if anyone is going to come to help us afterward, and I don't know how to ask... arrrgh. I'm a mess.

August Blooms, so exciting! Also, which board has the book recs? We're big readers here -- I was excited when DD would finally start sitting still for books, too -- and I'd love to check it out

trinitrotoluene It super hot here too but we have AC. Try to get out to the mall or library or wherever to keep cool. seventythree I'm feeling the same way, I'm 28 weeks and haven't checked any of my big to do's off the list. Hopefully seeing your therapist will help. It's on the Books/Tv/Film/Celebrity board, thread is called picture books.

I'm waiting for my NST. I'll have to check out the book thread.
We are totally unprepared for baby, but I'm not stressing because we're not even in our home yet to even stress. DD and I will stay with my dad for a bit after delivery like we did with her, so all I really need is some clothes and place for baby to sleep. I'll worry about the rest later.

If your kid is sleeping right, why rock the boat and create more problems and stress?? Same goes for PT. Wait til after baby. There is no immediate rush. Breathe. There are a lot of things we can't control at this point in our lives and pregnancies, that's totally okay!! I hope therapy goes well this week, but try and release it. Easier said than done, I know I know

Easier said than done, I know I know I agree with everything rachydc said. For the family/friends help thing, I've found that nothing makes someone feel more important/valueable/ increased self worth like doing a favor or helping a family/friend. Plant some seeds now or if anyone gives you the general we are here to help after the baby is born say great- I'll keep that in mind when I need some help with DD1. If you give people specific potential actions it helps. It's not too late to reconnect either. Just say sorry I've been so MIA I've really felt too tired to do anything. People get it. We are here for you!

When I was in my late 30s weeks with DS2 everyone kept being like I bet your ready for the baby to come! Don't you just want it here now?!? I was honest and always said no, no rush. Now I know how much work it is and can only imagine with 2 so I'll keep things the way they are for now! I was not rushing DS2 out at all. DS1 was just 2. Things were hard. I think there's a lot of 2 year old older sibs on this board. Now that DS1 will be almost 5.5 and DS2 will 3 and 3 months when this one comes I'm not as concerned. I think I'll be more "ready" this time because of the larger age difference and because I'm not stressing about getting big things out of the way before this one comes like rachydc said. All in due time! Plus (knock on wood) this is my last baby so I better enjoy it all this time. 🤞 Remind me I said this when I'm freaking out at some point!

My just over 2 year old still sleeps in a crib and isn't potty trained. "If it ain't broke" is how I'm living life right now. There's too much up in the air to even attempt either of those things. If I can get her PT by the time we go to Disney at the end of December, I'll be happy.
As far as the big girl bed. Crib for lyfe. Our until she starts to climb out, which she's shown no interest in doing, so I'm not changing it.

Either that or do a couple months beforehand so things are solid come trip time. Long car rides/airplane rides/new environments etc are difficult newly PT. Not saying this is the rule just something to consider. Personally I'd either do Disney in diapers or 1 month accident free. We hv a vacation next week and are PTing the weekend after we return.

Hey ladies! This weekend flew past. No sleep, no fun, just busy. I need a redo. Started DS in his big boy bed Friday night. It's been rough, but hopefully he'll adjust quickly! Trying to start shopping for cold weather clothes for DD, but it's proving difficult due to her size (skinny giant) and my distaste for ruffles/sequins/characters/etc on clothing. Can hardly wait to watch GOT tonight with DH after the kids go to sleep.
Anyone else dealing with tons of headaches? I struggle with them anyway, but they've been extra terrible the past week.

Remind me again when you start to feel like feet and elbows and such. I just had a deep longing to feel the little feet up by my ribs and the roll when they move side to side. I know I've got a long way to go.
