I love the Costco idea. That’s where I’m headed with $250K! Outside furniture, comfy clothes, giant snacks, books….

I feel so much better after reading all this that my first thought was room and board and then Lowe’s and then I was like no I should do something better. Costco does sound amazing though.

Costco/Sam’s for sure. (We only have Sam’s, so if I wasn’t allowed to travel…) Build a badass backyard situation. Upgrade the basement entertainment room. Kitchen/pantry organization. Stock up on kid gifts for a long time.

Maybe Costco/Ikea.
I want to turn our first room into a library desperately and need ton of shelving for it. Also, backyard redo would be amazing through Costco.

Art gallery. There is so much art I want that I can’t afford.

Lowe’s for sure! I would update my kitchen, bathrooms, paint colors, and flower beds all in one swoop. If there was anything left I’d just supermarket sweep the cleaning section.
Car dealership idea is intriguing though. Two older cars plus a teen that will be driving in two years. Ah!

If I have to pick a store? Nordstrom. This is fun money. I'm getting quality clothes and accessories.
The furniture I want for my house is custom so I could maybe spend like a hundred grand at that shop? I need a new kitchen but it would take longer than that to sit with a kitchen designer and architect. I'm not getting jewelry anywhere but a jeweler. *That sounds snobby but I was a jeweler for years!

If your goal to spend all the $250k most of these stores seem to miss the mark.
Like home depot would take forever to get someone to help you check out/order flooring cabinets and appliances. There never seems anyone around to help so you'd spend 25 minutes trying to get help lol

You can find me in Nieman Marcus I was torn between here and Nordstrom but NM made me irrationally angry with a pair of $250 tweezers years ago.

I like my chances.

I could definitely make it work and if you have advanced notice to prepare you could go in with full Cad models of kitchens and bathrooms. Or have already had them come do measurements so you’re just finalizing materials and signing quotes. We can make it work

Home Depot for sure I wonder if it's a regional thing that most of you go to Lowe's instead of HD

Visa gift cards are too hard to turn into cash, friends! -. a totally legit way is to register your LLC, then get your free tax ID, then register with QuickBooks or stripe for a credit card processor, then run them all

Costco would be it for me.
But I’d also love to sit with an interior designer and give her free rein for furniture, art, windows coverings, etc. I could say yes or no really quickly to stuff. I know what I like but can never seem to put it together.
I wonder what my H would say. Probably the bank to pay off our mortgage. Or golf galaxy. I wonder if it’s possible to spend 250K there.

I like the idea of somewhere I could buy Visa gift cards. If not, then home depot or lowes. DH would say a car dealer for sure.

My first gut reply was Walmart and I would stock up on $100 gift cards so I could keep them on hand and give them to homeless people (not just for Walmart, like fast food restaurants, etc). Does Walmart sell spas? Maybe I would get a spa for my backyard as well while I was there.
