Happy 2024! How many books did you read last year? What’s your goal for this year?
I hit my goal of 101 books on NYE-just made it! I’m going to keep the same goal for 2024.
I’m currently sitting in the Munich airport waiting to fly back home. I’m hoping to start and finish a book on the long flight-have to see what’s unread on my kindle.

I read 126 books and my goal was 100, so I crushed that. I'm going to keep that goal. I read fast, but having some wiggle room knowing I can blow past 100 if nothing major happens, definitely is the way to go.

My goal was 24 and I read 54 books. I'm really proud as I only read like 3 books the year before. Re-discovering reading has been really great for me.
I'm shooting for 50 books for this year as that seems reasonable for me.

My goal was 70, I finished book 82 last night! I think my goal for this year is going to be a stretch at 100, but I’m going to try!

My goal was 100, and I blew past it. I’m a really fast reader though.
Right now I’m re-reading Divine Rivals so I can start the sequel that just came out. Afterwards, I’ll re-read the first two Crescent City books to prep for the new one. I’m so excited about that one!

Happy New Year!
I read 64 books last year with a goal of 50. I’ll keep my goal the same this year. Reading for me is pure escape and fun so I like keeping my goal attainable!
January should be a good month. There are a few thrillers I’m looking forward to and then the 3rd Crescent City! I didn’t read anything I truly loved in 2023. Just lots of good and ok. Hopefully 2024 brings me a 5 star read or two.

I tracked 29 books this year, but I was terrible at tracking most of the year. I went several months without tracking anything and I never went several months without reading anything. Who knows what the number really is. I set my goal at 52 books, 1 book a week. I very often read more than one book a week, but that’s a nice baseline.
In 2023 I pushed myself to read more non fiction and thanks to Sharon McMahon’s book club I feel really good about that. Keeping that going in 2024.
In 2024 I’d like to tackle some longer books on my list. I have about half a dozen books over 700 pages that I’ve been wanting to read, so I made a plan to have those be my nighttime in bed books and I’ll read along with the audio books.
Starting the year with some easy spy novels—The Blonde Identity in hardback and Argylle on audio. I started them both yesterday and, in hindsight, starting 2 spy novels at the same time was a bad call, but it’s too late to go back. The Covenant of Water will be my first read along for the year and I’ll start it when I get in bed tonight.

I read a ridiculous amount of books this year. 272. Although I did discover audiobooks mid year and counted them as well so I probably read 2/3 of the total. My goal was 201. I’ll probably do 225 this year for a goal.

I read 108 books last year and my goal was 50 so I smashed that, discovering audiobooks really helped with that goal and bought me a lot of joy once I got into them. I think I’ll set this years goal at 70, there’s a few unknown work situation’s coming up that might conflict with my reading time, so I don’t want to be too ambitious.
There’s a few books being released in the next couple months that I’m excited about, both the Grey Man and Orphan X series have new books in February and Crescent City 3 at the end of this month.

I set a low goal last year, since it was only my 2nd year back to reading for fun, and read 75. I’m upping my goal this year to 52 so hopefully I still keep on.
Finished book 1 after midnight because I just wanted to be done with it. The Secret Rooms. 1-2 stars. Do not recommend.
Starting Divine Rivals today

Happy NY! My reading goal was 125, and I exactly hit that number. My goal will be 125 again this year. I will try to space out my shorter reads instead of cramming them into December lol. My fave this month was One Day in December. My current books: Lady Tan’s Circle of Women (hardback from the library, hoping to finish today bc it’s overdue 😬), ACOMAF (audio), Never Lie by Frieda McFadden (Kindle), Of Mice and Men (audio). I stated in the other thread that my goal is to read at least 6 classics this year, so starting with a short one should help.

I read 21 last year and my goal was 20. I made that goal the same year. That doesn’t include novel length fanfictions (because you shouldn’t track those on goodreads) that I read or the audiobooks because those were re-reads. I also read a lot of very long books. I am happy with that number considering how much stuff I have going on.

My goal was 150 and I read 191. I'm setting my goal to 175 for this year. I read 19 books in December. Favorites were A Dark Lure, Hemlock, and Holly Ever After.

I read 12 in December, highest rated was The Good Part. I’m at 156 for the year, which is about average for me.
I’ve already finished Set on You, which started out promising but my least favorite trope came into play in the last 20% and ruined it for me.
I’m half way through Tom Lake on audio and loving it. It’s really random, but totally giving me Little Women vibes from Marmee’s POV. I have a lot of connections to this story, which is maybe making me like it more than others here?
Also started the first Marlow Murder mystery book today.

I finished the year with 66 finished books. I set my goal for the next year at 60. I always hit a month or two each year where I only finish 1 or 2 books.
I keep hoping to make a dent on my actual TBR pile of books. I think this year is the year. Our new library is far less convenient, so I won't be walking there as much, and lately physical books have been keeping my attention more than audio and reading on my phone. I have restarted the same audio book 3x this week because I keep zoning out at the same spot!

My goal last year was 24 books, and I read 101 soooo yeah lol. I was super depressed the whole year though so I withdrew and that makes me read a lot. I’m setting a goal of 75 this year because I can already tell my new treatment is working and I may not be as couch bound as I was last year.

My goal was 100 and I read 108 books. My goal for this year is similar but I want to make sure to keep challenging myself with non-fiction and heavier literature and not just sticking to my favorite genres. I'm also going to do the 52 Book Challenge and hopefully that will help me get out of my comfort zone as well. I read 13 books in December and my favorites were Sure I'll join Your Cult by Maria Bamford and the first two books in the Percy Jackson series.

My goal was only 25 and I read 27, finishing Quarry Girls last night around 11:30.
Now I'm reading Hidden Pictures by Jason Rakulak
ETA: I'm doubling my goal this year to 50.
