I don’t want to jinx it buuuut I may have just convinced MH to move the SE Asia trip to the end of the year and bring the kids. I’m trying not to get ahead of myself, but I’ve also spent the night strategically planning layovers and comparing hotels.

Meanwhile, we just told DS we’ll take him to Hawaii in the next year or two because he’s finally old enough not to drive me crazy on the plane ride!

We’ve done it with all of them. The flight really isn’t bad at all. And even if it is, when it’s over, you’re in Hawaii! If you go to Hawaii, might as well hop over a little more to Asia, right? I basically girl math all my travel.

Still in planning stages but so far we have booked Jamaica for January and a country music festival in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota in August. I’m sure it’s not that exciting but I am hoping we can take a little detour/side trip to Fargo.
We’re also thinking of another trip in the Spring (Montana maybe) and Spain in Fall 2024.

I’m amazed that you didn’t know given how much we Minnesotans talk about it here. 😂😂 And no, I live in the best part of Minnesota aka the Twin Cities. 😜 It is roughly 4 hours south from WEfest.

We even have a part of our state that is only accessible via land if you are in Canada. If you want to access it from Minnesota, you have to have a boat.

I looked to see how long of a drive it is to Duluth from DL but it's 3.5 hours.

Looks like we might be spending spring break in SoCal! H actually suggested a couple of days in Disneyland (like...it was his idea...the kids will be shocked). I am so excited!

Is September a bad time of year to do a Cayman Islands trip? Like, is rainy season shitty? Or just a higher risk of occasional rain? Definitely don’t want to get stuck indoors for much of the trip. Cher and others who have been? It’s definitely hurricane season. I generally stay away from the Caribbean in Aug/Sept.

Cher and others who have been? I did Labor Day in Grand Cayman a few years ago. We got lucky, but the day we flew out was rough. If you do the Caribbean frequently, I’d say go for it, but if this is a once and done sort of thing, I’d look at Aruba or Curaçao, as those are generally outside the hurricane belt. But go to Cayman! I love it there.

We’re going somewhere for 2 weeks this summer because it’s been too long since our last proper vacation. But right now it’s between going to Florida to relax by a pool plus a couple of days at Universal Studios. Or go to Japan, which is a bucket list destination for all of us but it won’t be relaxing and will probably drain the entire vacation fund. Or the wildcard idea is an all inclusive in Costa Rica

We are planning on Santa Fe in April and Disney/Universal for sure in Orlando late May.
Was hoping for Vietnam over the summer but it may be pushed to the following summer.

We were looking at that for the summer as well, but it's not going to happen now. Anyhow, rainy season starts in May...so the earlier you can get there in summer likely the better. I hear August is miserable.
