It was a holiday here, so no work for me today - yay! I spent the day playing (as much as I can) with DS. Did some organizing of the nursery too - all clothes are sorted and quasi put in drawers or in storage for use later.
We also had my nanny's kids over so they could go swimming, eat American-style pizza, and watch Moana with us. It was a lot of fun! DS was the man of the house and loved all the attention.
Also - I hit 28 weeks today. Wohoo! I am so happy to have made it to the third trimester. After passing viability at 24 weeks, this was my next big goal! Fingers crossed now that my membranes hold until 32 weeks - the next big milestone.
Hope you ladies all have a happy Friday!

Ovia says that my movements should be less violent and more regular now that baby is filling up all the space in my uterus.
Judging by all the violent thrashing this morning, I have determined that was a lie.

Also, this morning I woke up and thought "Holy shit my arm hurts, I HATE laying on my side!"
Then I remembered that I had my Tdap shot yesterday. Damn you tetanus.

H and I are still kid free until tomorrow. It's been awesome to see movies, have random lunch or dinner dates, sleep in, and do other adult stuff 😉. Basically, this was our babymoon of sorts and we have enjoyed every minute of it. We're going to go out to lunch and will probably see Baby Driver today.

I'm getting my hair done and a pedicure, then doing some work this afternoon. One of our grad students is coming back from his summer internship and moving into a new apartment on campus this weekend, so I'm going to put some water and snacks in his kitchen to welcome him back. Then I'm donating some old linens to a local animal shelter. Trying to do some random acts of kindness today.

Today is both DH's and DS's birthday! I can't believe it has been two years since DS was born. Nothing fun planned today because DH has to work late tonight, but at least he is working from home. Maybe we will order out something yummy for delivery tonight.

Judging by all the violent thrashing this morning, I have determined that was a lie. Agreed....getting bony jabs esp. to the bladder and lady bits is unpleasant. I have noticed a decrease in thrashing movements this past week. They've become more like protruding lumps moving around. It still skeeves me a little but less so than first time with DS. I just kept on telling and showing hubs that I feel an alien is about to burst out of my belly.

I feel like goldilocks. Last night I had trouble sleeping, what's new le sigh! I've been either too hot or chilly with and without our duvet. Woke up around 2 and went to get a different blanket, that almost worked but felt a tad bit hot, then got up again to get a lighter blanket and that was a tad bit chilly. Almost wanted to go get something else again but too lazy. Will have to try my silk duvet tonight and see if it will be the right one. I'm desperate to get a good night sleep.

This was me with pillows last night. They were too fluffy, too flat, too scratchy, too hot... I can't remember what sleep was like with DD at 29 weeks but I'm hoping I have a few good weeks left still! Hope you can sleep better tonight!!

Omg, the rain has been so bad today I had to cancel my NST/BPP and reschedule for Monday. We tried to go, but the roads were flooded and it was a torrential downpour. All of MD is under a flood watch today and tomorroe, and we're currently under a flash flood warning until 2:45pm.

Taitai YAY for 28 weeks!! arimaythea Happy Birthday to your guys! mkrupar We've had crazy storms and rain here, too (MO). Lots of local flooding. It has cooled off a little but the humidity is off the charts!! AFM, we are in full on party prep mode since DS's bday party is tomorrow. I'm not a natural hostess so hosting a party gives me anxiety. Ugh.

Happy Friday! Just waiting for DS to fall asleep, he's currently in his crib singing to himself. Lately it's been taking him nearly half an hour to fall asleep for nap, but then he will usually sleep for about 2 hours. He should be good and tired, we spend almost an hour at the park today after our walk. A mom and her kids, 2 & 5, came after we'd been there for a while. DS has so much fun when there are other kids to play with at the park, and I really enjoyed the adult conversation time. Yay for making new friends!

I feel like I haven't checked in here in forever! Work got so hectic and then I was on my staycation for 5 days. Staycation was fun spending all that time with DH and DS until I got the call that I failed my 1 hour glucose sooo badly that they sent me straight to diabetic counseling. I had a bad feeling after I took down that drink because I felt super shitty afterwards but I didn't think it was that bad. So instead of a mommy alone day on Wednesday, I had a nutrition class. Next week I have a meter class where they'll set me up with my meter and go over everything. Then its a one on one with a diabetic counselor. My high risk factors keep on piling up! bleh...

This morning baby and I played a little game while I was laying around in bed before my alarm. It would protrude and then I would gently touch it and it would move and then we'd repeat. My own version of whack a mole. It was kind of awesome.

I just realized DH and I have not had a date night in a few months. Time to use that gift card we got for a steak house.
I was talking double strollers with a coworker today, he gave me some good info. Now I just have to track one down to give it a test drive and then hunt for a used one.
Just found out another co worker is expecting a month after me but she is just telling everyone because their is some sort of scandalous situation with who the father is. She's not my fav person but I feel bad that her personal life is under such a microscope.

I got one the other day where i pushed on it and felt some resistance as the little limb pushed back. The kid is already sassing me.

A power line is down so we have no power right now. We also live in the country which means we're on a well system so no power = no water = no flushing toilets (well you can buy you get like 1 good flush before the water's gone). Pregnant me does not think this is going to go well tonight...

My bank just called to ask if I made a purchase at a Wal-Mart in Iowa (spoiler alert, I did not). Thankfully they declined the transaction outright, but I do have to get a new debt card.
Sigh. But good looking out, bank.
