Because I'm so glad my weekend is here! It's been a weird week.
Any big (or not-so-big) plans for today?

I'm an auntie again! SIL had her baby last night. I'm hoping we can find someone to watch DS so we can go visit this weekend.

My phone didn't charge last night and is acting all wonky today. I hope this doesn't spell the end for it, because I'm sick of big purchases right now. I have to pick up MH from the dealership because he needs more work on the car. He drives about 1,000 miles a week to and from work and he uses it as a show car so there is always something. I told him that once we pay some more things off we are getting him a very cost effective beater car to drive to and from work. I thought he'd be annoyed by this, but he's really excited. I don't think he realizes what type of car I'm talking about, so this should be fun when it actually happens. lol.
This weekend we are going to keep it low key, hopefully. Rick and Morty Season 3 comes out on Sunday and I am so excited.

letthewookieewin Congrats on your SIL's baby! How exciting! Have fun visiting this weekend sheilathetank Omg - 1,000 miles a WEEK?! How long does it take him to get to work one way? That's like 100 miles each way, right? Or does he drive around a lot for his job? Sorry to be nosey - I am just fascinated by driving 1,000 miles a week. We drive like 10 miles a week total over here - kind of opposite world. As for me - we had a really nice Friday! It was a local holiday, so no work for me. I spent the day playing with DS and finishing organizing the clothes for the nursery. So glad to have that done - I started the third trimester today, so I think the nesting instinct is kicking in. DS was also very cute today and snuggled up close when we watched Moana (special treat since it was a holiday). He still calls the lava monster thing at the end "spooky," and he puts his hands over his eyes - but then peeks through them the whole time. It's funny and cute to watch. Just hoping "spooky" doesn't give him nightmares or anything like that.

Just hoping "spooky" doesn't give him nightmares or anything like that. It's 75 miles one way to work. So more like 750 miles just to get to and from work, plus whatever driving he does in the meantime. He loves to drive and loves his car, which helps a lot. The average home price out where he works is over 2-3x what ours cost so that's why he commutes. We live in a LCOL area for our state so we can afford to have a house at all. It sucks when I get overwhelmed and need him home immediately, but it's getting easier. That's super cute about "spooky" lol! And don't you overdo it with nesting, since you still are on partial bedrest.

sheilathetank My dad is similar and loves driving. I don't think he'd mind a commute like that in the least. I think he would put like 40K miles on his car each year - so I totally get how it is probably nbd to your H. Plus the housing savings - makes a lot of sense. You are also totally right about the nesting. I am waiting for DH to get home from the states so he can do all the rest of the heavy lifting over the next few weeks! It was fun to have my entire bed covered in DS' baby clothes though. I kept looking at the NB sized stuff and thinking - omg....this baby is going to be so small. I hope I don't break him!

I remember at my baby shower, I got some 6-9 month clothes and thinking "she'll never fit in these!" I look at K now and think, how was she ever that small?

It's going to be a mellow Friday. I feel like we haven't had one without plans for a while, add to that we've been out the past two nights and I'm looking forward to just being home.
I had a really bad, stupid, nightmare last night that woke me up and then DH when I screamed. I can't remember the last time I had a nightmare.

I'm always excited about other people's babies because I'm not the sleep-deprived one (although I'm really starting to finally feel like I'm ready to think about another kid). This SIL is a FTM--one of DH's other sisters has a boy slightly older than DS and a baby girl. *details poofed* PDQ, I'll be poofing later

We've gone to the beach every morning this week while visiting my ILs. The abundance of lakes is one of the perks of visiting here and we've taken full advantage of it. This weekend will be more beach time, splash pads and playgrounds. And evening drinks.

Congratulations letthewookieewin that so awesome! @sheliathetank my phone is acting strange too. I'm hoping it's just that I need to update. Big purchases suck when they all happen in a short time span. billmurray wow that sounds so relaxing! I'm jealous.

billmurray I totally understand. When DS1 was 2 and DS2 was 4 months we took a trip to the beach for 5 days. H was relaxed, I was not and 2 years later we have not made it back to the beach and if I think about it too hard I get pissed at H all over again.

I'm having a good Friday. I found out yesterday that I am expecting baby #2 next April! I'm so excited but it is also distracting me from my work lol.
I'm leaving tomorrow morning with my mom for an overnight getaway in another city. I am SO looking forward to shopping, eating, and relaxing without having to think about attending to L's needs. But the glasses of wine I was planning to have at dinner tomorrow won't be happening now!

E is feeling much better so I took her to the library. It was just us for a long time, then suddenly some daycare type school brought a whole bunch of kids and it got nuts. She handled it well. The kids were older and they worked around her. I got to have a proud mama moment there today. A little girl (not one of the DC kids) was playing on an activity that E suddenly wanted to do, most likely because she saw someone doing it. She started to pout a little and the little girl noticed her. She was obviously a nice kid because she left it to give E a turn. E actually said thank you, without any prompting from me. It was pretty cool to watch. She also has been talking about bacon all day, so we stopped by a store by the library and got some. She also wouldn't stop about peaches but the nectarines looked better and they're basically the same. She didn't notice the difference.

Court is done....they are to stay with us. Bio parents want a trial....they are upset and acted out. Judge is annoyed with them. If county wants to file the paperwork for tpr go ahead. They will meet with everyone but sounds like that long process will start soon.
