melaniesue yeah, that's weird. flamingo I'd be livid. Heads would be rolling. Cher I was lurking the diaper bag thread on parenting yesterday and amazon has the fawn design bag and it looks like it might be a little cheaper. I feel like I might need one..... Really? I'll have to check it out. I just end up using purses for diaper bags so I'm not sure if I *need* it..

Ok, yesterday the geneticist gave us the all clear for a year, today the neurosurgeon gave us the all clear for a year, now if I can get the ophthalmologist to do the same next week then we only have the neurologist that makes us come every 6 months.

cagoldi Kelly's move was SO terrible...at least we have the majority of our furniture, etc. so we can live. This is a total FWP, I know. yummeecookee I can only imagine coming from outside CONUS would be infinitely more frustrating. We have friends overseas moving back who have really been through the wringer (ringer? I'm never sure) this summer, so I probably should just count my blessings and not complain. Yessssssssss. DH just texted that we got a call from the movers, they'll be here tmrw a.m., and we have the driver's name and #.

Sorry if I've mentioned this before, but Colin has recently started sticking his entire hand in his mouth. He doesn't usually keep it in for long but he'll also quickly jam the other one in after being told to stop. And not in an obstinate way, it's seems more distressing than anything. I've also caught him licking his forearms, always one and then the other. We've asked him why he does it and he either cries, says he's tired, or he's thirsty. His teachers were actually the first ones to notice it becoming a constant thing. I'm a bit concerned that it's anxiety related but it's also only been 2-3 weeks, so I've been hoping it'll just go away. I'm just not sure what to do? I don't want to make a big deal out of nothing but I also don't want to wait if it's something that SHOULD be addressed.
ETA: No other behavioral changes and I've checked for signs of a sore throat, but he looks fine ::insert shruggy guy::

joelies I'm not sure if this is the same thing but O either sticks his tongue out or puts his fingers in his mouth when he is nervous in a social situation. I first noticed when he was under two. And I still see him doing it occasionally when he is nervous around people he doesn't know.

I do suspect that it has something to do with coping, but he does it pretty much everywhere and all the time. At school, out, even at home while watching TV or eating. Even in between pitches when we play catch. It's so odd.

I got an RX for an inhaler and I made her an appointment bc she's been coughing too. Thought I might as well get her seen since it's Friday and I don't want to deal with urgent care this weekend. And if she needs meds it's best to start them now.

TMI ahead I pulled back the skin on H's penis last night. Poor baby. I've tried before and was never able to do it, the pedi always does it. I'm so fucking sick of this shit. FTR I'm talking about my son, not MH. I felt the need to clarify...

vino I like the sweetened almond milk. M won't drink it though so I'd suggest getting a smaller size to sample a variety of them, if it's available.

I mostly use pea and soy for coffee, cooking, and the boys. We like cashew a lot too.
I think almond milk is the most preferred among people used to drinking cow's milk but I really only like it for smoothies.
Most plant-based milks that are nut based have a good amount of calcium, usually more than dairy. So does soy.
If you want something that has a similar nutritional profile to cow's milk then you want soy, pea, or hemp (which I don't happen to like). We use pea and soy since we don't have as many sources of dietary fat, but that might not be a concern for you.
If that's the case then I'd say just find whatever you think tastes best.
So you have: soy, oat, pea, coconut, rice, hemp, flax, pecan, cashew, almond, and hazelnut, among others.
Also, because I know that you care about this: you're going to be helping the environment because every gallon of cow's milk takes 2,500 gallons of water to produce. Plant milks are much less water intensive.

I thought for the kids' sake, almond would be the closest in taste to cow milk. It also seemed to have a better amount of nutrients than other milks I looked at (soy, coconut).

C woke up super upset and painful and refused to drink or take meds. Since he only peed four times in 24 hours the Dr had us go to the ER. The ER said he was hydrated enough not to need fluids but we are walking the line. They gave him some liquid Vicodin. Which was then out of stock at CVS. I was finally able to get it at another pharmacy and my dad picked it up while I took C home to nap. It took two hours to get him to sleep. Not drinking much still but a little high and couldn't wind down.
Thank goodness my parents are near and my dad offered to come with us to the ER and help with the pharmacy stuff. Today has been a total mess. I'm hoping the meds help him enough to drink more and get us over the hurdle.

Need to catch up, but MH is driving me insane. We are having his cousins over for a low key get together (so I thought) and he's going nuts. Every serving dish we own is out, he came up with games, signs, scavanger hunt, ect. There will be 10 adults and 4 kids INCLUDING us.
It doesn't help that I'm on a diet, starving, exhausted and about to start my period.

I'm over almond milk- it tastes the way I imagine dirty plants would taste.
