So those of you wanting someone else, who do you all think is the obvious candidate to take his place in 2024? I'd love for it to be Kamala Harris but (infuriatingly) I don't think Dems would rally behind her at this moment in time. The very LAST thing we need right now is a Democratic primary for President with a bunch of ugly infighting. RFK Jr is already trying to weasel his way in, no need to assist Bannon's pet spoiler candidate. And Bernie! Do you all think he would seriously sit it out? Nah, he'd be right back in there and his fans would say nary a word about his age. Like it or not, Biden is the best shot we have currently. I agree he’s the best shot but that fact honestly infuriates me.

I'm especially sick and tired of old white men (I know we pretty much all are on the same page on that one).

The insanity happening here to avoid the filibuster is turning out bills that look like this. They are jam packed bills that are loosely tied, mainly to the same committee. ALL of these bills were separate bills and were passed over for anti-trans and abortion bills. Now they sit as Christmas tree bills hoping to pass constitutional muster, which may not matter in this heavily red state. The introducer is one of the Ric.ketts puppets.

MN House just passed our rec marijuana bill. Senate votes on their version on Friday, then some consolidation to be done and then it is off to Gov Walz for signature. We will have legal weed by summer!*
*Weed will be legal but the industry and stuff won't be set up til next year. But people could still get it and it wouldn't be illegal for them to use anymore.

Missouri just voted for recreational marijuana in November (pretty much the only good thing going here right mow), and by February everything was going. If you have medical dispensaries set up, it may happen much faster than you think!

Both states said it would take a year, it took no time at all for medical dispensaries to pivot to rec giving time for solely rec to come online. Hooray for legal weed!

Ah yeah I didn't think about the medical dispensaries being able to maybe pick that up. I'm sure they would but we don't have many -- there are only 15 in the entire state, so that could get to be too much, and would be really shitty for the people that need it for medical reasons to have to navigate through the chaos to get their meds. I guess we'll see.

Senator Hunt was delivered papers claiming she has a conflict of interest with the anti-trans healthcare bill. This is the day after she called for those who farm and provide corn for ethanol gas. She was speaking then on a bill to mandate all gas stations to carry E15 gas at at least 50% of their pumps. One in particular stated that her family farm would directly benefit from this. This is also the day after the filibuster was suspended to add the SNAP increase extension bill was passed to the next round.
Edit for spoiler and tweet with further context

So mad and sad that she has to do this but grateful for her. I was just talking to H how there are going to be women who become infertile because of these horrific policies. Which seems like the opposite of what they want?

I know it's really because they (Disney) hurt his feelings and also because his base eats that shit with a spoon, but I truly don't understand how he thought he was going to win against Disney. Mickey and Friends have some of the best lawyers on the planet and they win everything.

I’m tempted to go give Disney a shitton of money because of this. We are heading to universal in June, but I may do a Disney day just because

I never thought I'd be so grateful for the house of mouse. Right? Maybe I’ll return to Disneyland sooner than I was planning.
