Looks like OG has been identified- 21 year old National Guard member in MA. Also read that he hasn't been charged or arrested yet- but that doesn't mean he isn't in custody right (like he could be held for questioning)? Otherwise WTF are they throwing his name around like this?

I don’t have much military knowledge, but is it common for young, not very high ranking people to have access to that kind of information? It seems odd.

No, though it sounds like he had a Top Secret clearance (very high) (maybe he didn't and was accessing material he didn't have permission for?), but assuming he did, he must have had a very specific job- I'm going to guess related to computers/IT. There should have been a ton of red flags to the the org along the way.

www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/04/13/suspect-pentagon-documents-leak/"Teixeira told members of the online group Thug Shaker Central that he worked as an technology support staffer for the Massachusetts Air National Guard and at a base on Cape Cod, and this was how he was able to access classified documents, one member of the Discord server told the Post." Or he had a TS and was still accessing things he shouldn't have been. Nothing quite ads up yet. And then also, he was leaking to the group- which is bad- but who was then leaking it out of the group to the larger media?

The family was investigated by the FBI before it was granted though. This was ages ago. He's in his 40s now but it definitely happened in his early 20s.

Even with very high level of clearance, sensitive stuff is highly siloed depending on what you do. The guy working in the building has to have clearance to be in the building but he can't just open controlled access files simply bc he has access to a computer containing those files. Or ar least, he isn't supposed to be able to. So it does not make sense that this happened.

For everything I know, I agree that it's not adding up. Maybe he's a puppet for someone up higher?

It also doesn't make sense people have taken files home or to offices they don't belong (Joe, 45, Senators, etc). I have a feeling we need some reform in document handling Anecdotally, MH was working on something at one point that is boss couldn't know about because they didn't have the same clearance level. We've heard about a couple arrests locally for people likely mishandling classified docs, but the news stories are bare bones. Probably for the best, no need to disclose more vunerabilities

I am so irritated by all these field hearings. These are huge committees with huge staff that need workspace and lodging, all at taxpayer expense. Sat one word about the debt ceiling, dipshits

Seeing rumblings of Mitch retiring/resigning but then he suddenly resurrected to Twitter to say that he plans on returning to Congress on Monday.

Mail 400000 copies of that to Thomas house and all the supreme court justices and senate and house of reps and president, vp, all news stations big and small. Governors. The universities the justices all got their law degrees from. Plaster it on the walls. It's a precedent that he should step down or be removed just like that guy
