I remember sometime in 2017 my dad being an asshole and telling me HRC was going to be in jail soon. Crickets from him now on this. Obviously.

Something along the lines of: The “lock her up” crowd isn’t as excited to say “lock him up” so apparently pronouns do matter.

I just want the whole damn thing to be over. Anyone else have the sinking feeling that he is going to be found not guilty? The smug faces and remarks from his supporters will be too much.

Given who he is and the magnitude of his influence around the country, and his notoriety around the world, I feel confident that prosecutors in every case going on right now are only going forward if they feel strongly about a conviction. None of them want to be the target of all the death threats coming their way (and already happening) if they are going to lose.

There's going to be more even after, or possible before, all of this is settled. This dude is going to be tied up in the shit for the rest of his life.

They are going to make sure it is all drafted well and tight and all the evidence is good enough for a conviction.

Looks like consequences on the horizon Since it is long, here is the full text, in case it gets cut off “BREAKING: Call to Activism has filed an official ethics complaint with the Colorado Supreme Court Office of Attorney Regulation against former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis.
Case number 23-1193 will seek her disbarment.
Here’s why we’ll win:
On March 31, Ellis shocked legal experts by calling on Trump to “refuse to surrender to New York,” and seek DeSantis’ help to avoid extradition.
This is direct violation of Colorado's Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys in Colorado - specifically rule 8.4 against misconduct.
Subsection (d) prohibits any attorney from engaging in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice, which Ellis clearly did here by encouraging Trump to evade arraignment.
Lawyers should not publicly call for crimes to be committed. We are determined to start making our laws work in this country.
Ellis has been disciplined before and has learned absolutely nothing. The time to hold her accountable is now.
We will not rest until she’s disbarred. 🧵“

It does not appear that many protesters showed up so that's a relief I don't believe he is nearly as popular as network and cable news makes him seem. All elections since 2018 have pretty much been nightmares for him which is why it's almost comical how tightly the gop is hitching their wagon to him. The base has been shrinking since day one, a lot of them don't vote, and now a lot of them are felons, lol. He's fully a liability and looks like death warmed over. The outrage porn from the MTGs is for eyeballs only, I don't think they give a flying fuck what actually happens to him. I know you know this, but I think we all got so used to see worrying about nukes every day that we think he can backflip out of this and he can't. willow is right, no prosecutor--not least a Black prosecutor--is going to bring a single charge that can't be won. Their lives are unfortunately literally on the line.

They are all such cowards, honestly. All this grandstanding about everything. How they would rush with their guns and take down the bad guys. They wouldn't, they'd run like hell and sequester themselves, every single one of them.

Per MSNBC’s live reporting there is no one outside trump tower but there appeared to be a decent sized crowd* in a park across from the courthouse and an anti-trump assembly of people across the street. The reporter made it a point to note that there seemed to be a lot of tourists and lunch break walkers out for a look.
*The reporter advised it was a small park so maybe it’s not a sizeable crowd they are all just smooshed together. Also MTG didn’t stay when she (or her ppl) saw the human density in the park.

Out of idle curiosity, is it standard practice to run a newly booked individual’s finger prints through whatever database of finger prints found at crime scenes might exist or have I been watching too many police shows?
Because wouldn’t it be funny if …..

I figured that he had been finger printed before for his personal/President security reasons but would they have run them against the database? Sometimes WAH and having no one to talk to except the dogs sends my brain off to weird places
