I did D.C. Drop off today. The D.C. is really close to where my new job will be so I felt encouraged that it took me just under 25min to get there. Then C went ballistic, reaching back for me and crying "mommy!". :/
B starts a new ballet/tap class tonight. She is already telling C he can go to her show. Well it's just a summer camp thing, no show.... hope she's not disappointed!

I'm still laying in bed while the kids watch tv. Mom of the year, but whatever. We have one week of summer vacation left so I'm going to laze around as much as possible. We're hitting the gym today and swimming at a friends house. I also need to get the boys haircuts, but it may not happen.
Oh, and my parents showed up unexpectedly last night. They always do this, just show up in town with no notice. I mean, it's fine, they have their own house so it's not like they are staying with us, but it would be nice to have some notice. My house is a wreck and I always feel like I have to rearrange all my plans.

I'm sorry, klong11. It seems like grief comes in waves like that and you were very close so it was a major loss. Hugs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

xolastunicornxo Random question. Did y'all have a cleft palate team or just an ENT that specialized in them? My research keeps talking about getting a team. The ENT we'll see next week says his areas of interest are Pediatric Otolaryngology, including cleft palate and nasal and sinus disease.

I had our new manager with me all morning which is always a little awkward. I hate having someone watch me while I'm talking to patient's and families.

klong11 I'm sorry your having a tough time. I'm here for you if you wanna talk or see a movie. We need to hang out soon. Don't know if we got the house yet but I put our move in date for 8/14. I want to be moved in before school starts. But we still don't know. Le sigh. xolastunicornxo that would annoy me. I like people to THINK my house is always clean. It rarely is. tgrimes we have a team. The team consist of literally like 15 doctors in just about every field you can think of, and we don't utilize all of the. But he has his plastic surgeon, his ent and his speech therapist, all which specialize in clefts, that we use. The team will usually also have genetics if they think that needs to be tested, and Lucas will see an orthodontist that specializes next month just to Make sure all his teeth are coming in fine. (As far as we know they are). A team Is the way to go, because you want people who specialize in this area. ESPECIALLY if he ends up needing any speech. Lucas's first few speech therapist didn't know anything about clefts and he got zero out of it.

I'm looking at all these support groups threads for HS trying to figure out what I want to pursue for treatment and all these people say they went into remission when they went Paleo and quit eating nightshades. The medicine that seems like the best candidate needs to be in conjunction with a low potassium diet.
Vegan paleo with no nightshades and low potassium means I could eat like, berries, kale and cucumbers.

I'm sorry you've been having a rough time klong11. Your dad was a big part of your life. Are you close to any of your brothers? They won't replace your dad, but would it help to talk to one of them? I wish there was something we could do to help.

xolastunicornxo I realize I'm probably jumping the gun here but I want to be prepared. If the ENT tells me next week that it is what we think it is, how do I go about finding a team? ETA: Wait, I think I saw on TCH's webpage that they have a team. Would you mind clicking on this and telling me if it's what you're talking about, please? No rush. www.texaschildrens.org/departments/cleft-lip-and-palate-clinic

I wish I had someone to ask questions to. It literally took us years of switching doctors and missed diagnoses and so much frustration because I didn't know what questions to ask.

Everyone keeps telling me it's no big deal and I want to scream, "IT'S A BIG FUCKING DEAL TO ME! IT'S MY BABY!" Ha ha ha.

And on the off chance it is something, you go in prepared and ready to get answers immediately, instead of feeling blindsided and going home with nothing and wishing you had asked more questions.

So I showed you guys the pint in our new master, it's a dark grey with lots of light from the windows. Our furniture is also dark so I want our bedding to be lights and "airy" to Lighten it up. Do we like any of these duvet colors?
