Woke up and there was no coffee in the house (GAH.) so went for a run and stopped by the store down the street on the way home. Taking the girls to the library program in a bit, then maybe walking to the park this afternoon if the rain holds off.
DS is having a blast with my parents this week. They've gone to the movies, went fishing, spent time in the pool, made model cars and played board games. I miss the little guy but I'm so glad he's having a good time!

yesterday was at a 20. a 20 people. i almost walked out of work at one point. we are simply spread to thin for the work that we have committed too. i'm responsible for coordinating about 2.5 million of it. this month. shit's hitting the fan. my sanity left 2 days ago. i haven't' been able to sweat it out. and yesterday was the beginning of the fall. so today, i stopped at panera, got a bec everything bagel, mocha latte and a double fudge brownie. cause i like chocolate when i am stressed. and grease and basically anything that i shouldn't eat. but let's hope that a yummy breakfast will set the mood for a good day (and no call from daycare....) Oh, you and H must be sharing a boss. It's been SO bad lately, that his bosses (brothers) have told him that once these jobs are done they are sending us on a vacation for me having to deal with it at home.

TW: hospitalized child
From my other BMB: one of the kids had severe allergies as an infant, but has started to outgrow them. Mom took him yesterday for a baked milk tolerance test. The worst happened: he reacted and stopped breathing, coded twice, and is currently in the ICU in critical condition. They'll be keeping him sedated until tomorrow because of the concern of a secondary reaction. He was down long enough that they'll be testing his organs for functionality tomorrow.
It's completely awful, and the waiting must be terrible for the mom. I gave my kids extra long hugs last night. I'm sure the family would appreciate any good thoughts you could spare.

E SLEPT IN HIS CRIB ALL NIGHT. Basically all week, I've been trying to get him in there at bedtime and then DH takes over for nighttime duty. So in the morning I ask DH, how'd it go? I literally shed a tear when he told me. It makes me have hope for the future. I know that sounds dramatic, but it is true.

joi922 , that is SO SO sad. OMG. For serious food allergy tests like that, were they not in an office/hospital that was properly equipped to administer medication fast enough? My cousin's son is going through this now, and all of their food tests are done within the hospital. He supposedly grew out of his baked egg allergy, so 2 days ago they did the food test. He had 2 CRUMBS of cupcake and started seriously reacting. The nurses administered whatever medicine immediately and kept him for monitoring. Thankfully in this case, he is fine. Keeping that family in my thoughts.

Betweenthelines I thought they were in a hospital for the testing since food allergies are fucking scary. That said, I don't know for sure. It sounded like everything happened VERY quickly. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

jedi, seriously. I am so so thankful DS grew out of his wheat allergy. My friends daughter was like 16 months when she just touched peanut butter. This was back when they recommended waiting until 2 to eat it. She reacted. She touched the pb then hercchest. The rash went through three layers of clothes! She's never ingested. So scary. I mean with an allergy this serious she can never even do sleepovers or potlucks.

RunsforWineandCarbs so sorry for all the stress. I hope your breakfast treat helps start your day off well today. Does your work have plans to hire more people? DH's work is in a similar situation, where he has been overseeing two departments for the last two months. The one department has significant business expansion, but they can't find people to do the work, and then the team lead quite two weeks ago. So it's all on DH. We are on vacation next week and they are freaking the f out, but I don't care, they need to figure it out. He may get calls while we are away, but we are going away for a few days. We need it. Almost Friday!

joi922, so sorry about that little one. Allergies are so terrifying. Our nephew has anaphylactic allergies to dairy and eggs. They discovered when he was an infant. It was so severe that someone who ate cheese, kissed his cheek and he developed a rash! I can't imagine the stress. T&P for that family.

shellyr I'm glad C is better and that you feel comfortable with your ped. It's so important to have trust in your doctor and to know you can go to them to put your mind at ease without judgement.

I'm preparing myself for the worst - rescheduling. Waiting to hear back from slide company, and the 2 places we ordered food from need to know by midnight and 3 pm tomorrow if we are going to reschedule to Sunday. So I guess I will just make the call by noon tomorrow. I really don't want to deal with a rained out party if the next day is going to be nice. If the whole weekend was going to be rainy, then I'd take the chance, but as of now - Sunday is going to be just cloudy, no rain.
Guys, I'm going to be so happy when this is all over.
