Morning! Another day, another dollar, and another instance of DS needing a little more help with his pullups than I ever imagined when I started potty training. At least I've remembered to check so far before I send him on his way.
DH is feeling a lot better, but decided to take one more day to rest. FX he doesn't need to call out of work for a while after today.

Good morning everyone! Our day was good over here - DS must be going through a growth spurt, because he is eating so much. Like, sometimes I swear he eats as much as me, and I'm 7 months pregnant. I'd better make sure I know where his next size up for clothes are!
Aside from DS being an eating machine, he can now sing all of "You Are My Sunshine." He has been singing it in the morning at breakfast. Heart melt ❤️😍

LBB is in the kitchen, giving BH a temporary tattoo. They have both been up since 5, so I am already done with them for the day. It's 6:45. I keep looking at the clock wondering when DH is going to take them to school.

I'm looking forward to the day when he can get himself ready with ease.

Taitai , DS has been really into singing lately, also. He's getting pretty good at the ABC song, and also the goodbye song they sing at his gymnastics class. It is the cutest hearing him sing in his little voice. In less fun news, DS STILL has the rash, so I have a call in to my pediatrician's office and am waiting to hear back on what we need to do from here since we're just about out of the new ointment. He got a whopping nine hours of sleep last night because he refused to fall asleep before 9:30 (he happily sang/played in his crib for an hour and a half), and then woke up at 6:30 this morning, not in a good mood. And my dog is sick. She's old and has a long history of stomach/health issues, so whenever she's sick I'm worried. She was sick over the weekend too, then snapped out of it, so I'm hoping the same happens this time.

Wfh today. It's not going well. We're down an analyst and a mgr. And the work I'm getting today is annoying. 1- I could've done it all last week when I had nothing to do. And 2- one assignment I already did last week for the absent mgr but this other mgr is questioning it. They don't see eye to eye. She's even requesting a skype mtg...I'm still in pjs w 2 kids I keep having to wrangle. This was not a good idea. I'm stressed.

littlelion, oh my, that sounds stressful! It must be hard to juggle two competing demands like that, and adding kids into the mix can't help. I hope something gets resolved so that the rest of your day can go more smoothly.

I'm absolutely exhausted today and I can't figure out why. My period just ended a few days ago so I can't blame it on possibly being pregnant. I need a nap.

I just had a nice Skype meeting with my supervisor. He gave great feedback on my recently submitted chapter and I've been working on rewriting it. The whole writing-a-dissertation-while-having-a-baby thing has been enormously stressful, especially when I was sleep deprived the first 6 months of L's life. Then I had some major life events that caused me to basically have a nervous breakdown (I have no other way to describe it). But the past two months have been so, so much better. I remarked to my H yesterday that I was actually not feeling the stress of my PhD program any more; I look forward to working and I feel productive when I do. And, most importantly, I don't feel the heavy weight of guilt when I'm at home spending time with L.
I also had a nice morning earlier with L. He'll be 13 months next week and still isn't walking independently. He actually pushed his little shopping cart around this morning so I got a break from holding his hands to walk him lol. I can't wait for him to walk on his own.
There's a little music festival downtown tonight, so I think we're going to go out for an early dinner with my parents and then walk around a bit.

Yup. This is the exact scenario. I have a bunch of books I can't read to her either including "guess how much I love you" and "sweetest Kulu". Motherhood turned me into a total sap and now I cry at everything. EVERYTHING.

This week is going sloowww for me! I work on Saturdays so is just the start of it. Boo.
I ordered and got my Instant Pot last night and am excited to try it out but this week is too busy I think. I absolutely HAVE to cut my lawn tonight and deep clean my bathroom tonight so no time to figure it out. DD is being picked up by my parents from daycare tomorrow and then visiting. I will drive up north after work on Saturday to also visit overnight. It is hard since my parents moved up north (3 hours from me) I never really get to see them.
I am enjoying talking to this guy from a dating site. We have talked for a very long time and he is finally ready to meet, so trying to find a time that works for both of us. We have had periods where we took breaks from the site but started back up again. Will be interesting to see if he is like how he appears on the phone 😊

Battling some kind of illness over here. E has had a fever since yesterday morning around 3:30. 102.5 and up. But she's still going and going. Waiting on test results from the doc.

I'm super excited for dinner tonight. I haven't seen my college roommate since she had her most recent child and I'm excited to catch up. Our kids are all 2 years apart (Mine are 5 and 2, hers are 3 and 3 months). Our husbands have been friends since college. I've been friends with her husband since college. It should be an all around good time. Plus, Mexican food.

sheilathetank We don't do the second verse of you are my sunshine, and it was DH who also taught DS the song. I even start to cry singing the second half of the first verse "you'll never know dear, how much I love you...pls don't take my sunshine away." But hearing DS sing it is still cute if I don't think about it! footloose Exciting about the guy from the dating site! I hope you figure out a time to meet and it goes well 😀. I hope you update us 😉 fuzzylogic. Hope E feels better - fevers and sickness are no fun. billyhorrible Have a great time with your college friend! Jealous of the Mexican food.

I just tried to see if he could meet up on Friday as DD will be with my parents but he has his daughter all week. So hard to always try to make plans around parenting.

I should be doing yoga but instead I'm binging Netflix. K was also really tired and went down pretty easily. The last molar is through which explains the last two weeks. Im the worst at seeing teething signs when they are happening. I only pit 2 and 2 together when I can finally feel the tooth.

Thanks, Taitai and billmurray. She spiked again right after dinner. I meant to give her Tylenol around 4:30, and get on the every three hour schedule rotation with Tylenol/Motrin but forgot so it crept up without us noticing while we ate. So, tepid bath, Tylenol, and bed. She doesn't seem to feel too bad until it gets right at 103, then she fades, understandably. It's been over 36 hours. Ready for this to move on. I wish I had answers. I'm an answers person. I made a meal tonight that H called "restaurant-worthy." Thanks, Cooking Classy blog, you're the best

fuzzylogic The only time my DD had a fever over 103 was when she had Roseola. I didn't know until I googled high fevers for 4 days. That was one of the signs and then a rash on the torso once the fever breaks. Sure enough it happened just like it said. Did her Dr mention that as a possibility at all?

It ended up being fine, but I remember being so freaked out by the high fever/rash!

Yes, it is not a fun virus but thankfully that's pretty much all to it and you just have to get through it and then at least they have immunity for later. DD was about a year when she got it and was so cranky and tired and just wouldn't eat for like 3 days. I could get her to BF some, I was worried about dehydration but she was fine and eating and drinking again as soon as the fever broke. Illnesses are so stressful!

footloose, the doctor did not mention it, but I know it's a possibility. The fever has broken so it was early Tuesday morning through Thursday (today) morning. She seems to feel fine, though she's being a whiny asshole. I haven't noticed any rash anywhere but I am watching for it. She ate a little breakfast, and a little lunch, and has nursed a few times. I'm so tired, though.
