I vaguely remember discussing at one point how Meghan was one of (of not the) biggest target of racist bots on Twitter. And it could all be traced back to 12 accounts or something Maybe I'm mixing up details, but she's definitely a huge target Yes and twitters continues to let it go. |

I am all for having a conversation about Twitter, bots, the motives behind the bot makers (causing division), what is says about our society that posts about Meghan sow division, racism, etc. I'm also for the conversation about real-live racists and misogynists who use Twitter and other social media to shit on WOC and Meghan. Those conversations don't make me uncomfortable and I think they're important to have. angelashly , I know you frequently share them as examples of those conversations and I get that. But, I think often instead of making our way to those larger conversations, we tend to engage with the premise of the tweet itself. "Of course they're looking at the cameras, there are 500 of them at every angle, etc." That's what I mean when I say giving them a certain stature - it's like playing their game. Like it's not whatever dumb shit they come up with to tweet about today that's the story, it's the fact that the tweets as a group exist and what that says about our society. And that's why I don't feel like we need to see every single dumb thing they say. I don't think I'm explaining it well. |

I am absolutely not diminishing the emotions that come with losing a loved one, I know how hard it is, even when they've lived a long and wonderful life. Starting off his reign with an extra week of "mourning"/vacation must be nice Don't the royals have another week of mourning? I think I heard that somewhere |

It was definitely work, but I also remain amused that during the week leading up to the funeral, they had a rest day built in and it was specified that Camille had to spend rest day separately from Charles so he would have alone time. Who among us wouldn’t want a scheduled day alone? #royalslikeus Every Mother's Day that is all I ask for. They go to the zoo and I get to sit on the couch and binge Bravo #royalslikeus |

I think what is bothering me is the implication that we can’t or won’t have difficult conversations about the subjects of the tweet without reposting every vile tweet. I think those conversations have happened here and will continue to happen. |

My sick kid is watching The Sound of Music for the first time, so I’m also trying to explain nunneries (help me swellist) and the Anschsluss to an 8yo at the same time, so I’m not really engaged enough to make it another 50 pages. I knew this would not be a unanimous topic, and that’s okay. Just putting my opinion out there, and I feel like richard has expressed my thoughts on it very well. Honestly, I was not sure if it would be UO or not, so it’s been interesting to hear from different perspectives. |

I find the Twitter posts so ridiculous. Like it's laughable that LOOKING AT A CAMERA can be skewed negatively.
I don't feel any which way about them being posted. Mainly it points out unhinged these people are.

I don’t love the Twitter posts solely for the attention reasons others brought up. The conversation they inspire is good. angelashly I think it’s good you are making sure the very real and major issues of race stay in full view. To me, it’s all about the bot algorithms.
