I've seen comments that are like "you can tell they just want to escape from the hellish family! Nest of vipers! Salt Island!" and that might be true but also that is the same face I've made after every family funeral I've ever attended. It's exhausting and emotional and you've been trying to hold it together for hours and all you want to do is get changed into sweats and drink a gallon of water. Add in the stress of being “on” for the public. I have felt that many times Seriously, being surrounded by people and knowing that photographers and TV cameras are everywhere. Harry's face in that picture, to me, looks like a guy who just watched his grandmother sink into a hole in the floor. She's really gone. No more ceremony to distract him. That finality hits hard.

Yes! We hosted people at our house after my FIL's funeral so when everyone left our house my husband had that same face.

So the Telegraph is reporting that Harry found out about The Queen's passing 5 minutes before the public did. I eye rolled that they were still making that a thing, but King Charles' spokesperson made a statement that the public did not find out until all the members of the family knew. which is neither a confirm or a deny and weird that he put that out right? ArielMermaid didn't you use to say if they put out a statement it usually means it's true?

Telling the prime minister isn’t making it public. Of course, the haters are saying it’s because Charles knew Harry and Meghan would leak it.

Dead royals are good for business, so conspiracies and royal gossip, keel the money train going.

This was all Sunday I am just now reading it, but I am assuming they thought that the funeral would bury this story

I don’t get it. Before the public means before the public, right? Yes, but he didn't deny that it was 5 minutes before the public. Look lady I am trying to get us to 200 pages

I read 17 Carnations by Andrew Morton. I remember it being pretty good, but it was years ago. I will put it on my list. requested from Libby!

Yikes. COVID definitely crossed my mind more than once at how packed the Abbey was and not a mask in sight.

I have no doubt the funeral will turn into a super spreader event

Or about Charles allegedly going to Scotland until next Tuesday?
I am absolutely not diminishing the emotions that come with losing a loved one, I know how hard it is, even when they've lived a long and wonderful life.
Starting off his reign with an extra week of "mourning"/vacation must be nice

Mary's invite got rescinded so Magrete decided to turn the event into a super spreader event. this is why you don't uninvite people!

is there a certain amount of time they should have waited to tell the public after Harry was informed? Was 5 mins not long enough, too soon, I mean what is the standard. who sets the standard.
they waited until the family was told and then told the public; seems about right. the public already knew something was going on.
i think it sucks he found out last but there are so many reasons why he could have been told last.

I read that Camilla was getting ready for her interview with Jenna Bush and someone told Charles there was an urgent phone call, and like two minutes later they were running down the hallway to leave.
I think she was gone before the rest of the family even headed out.

Yeah Jenna said they heard all the commotion in the hallways and people were instructing them to be very quiet due to the phone calls.

I think this is why the details are important. Was he the last family member notified or did they all know at like 11 o’clock, called the prime minister around 2, tell the BBC to release it at 6 as planned, and call him at 5:55? If so, yes, that’s hurtful to him. If The four kids were each charged with alerting their own kids and staff was taking care of everyone else, not a big deal.
