It was high 90s this weekend and yesterday. Now the fog has settled in and we are staying cool in the mid 70s all week. Crazy.

Two more days left on our trip across the country!
The first day was absolutely horrible. We got caught in a unbelievable traffic jam in a portion of the 15 (the freeway that takes you from SoCal to Vegas) where there are no rest stops or exits or options to turn around. Two lanes, six hours in traffic. It'd take us about an hour to go two miles. So that turned our 6 hour drive to St. George Utah into a 12 hour slog. I honestly don't know how we managed. Towards the end my poor five year old had to use the bathroom (we all did) but was able to wait until we were out of it to go. Omg. Just insane.
The second day was better (with very pretty scenery through Utah) but we still had a few hiccups. Plus we did 10 hours that day because of having to switch things around. Do not recommend, lol. Third day went smoothly, and now we're more than halfway through it all. 8.5 hours today, so about the same as yesterday. Send us good thoughts as we drive through the Midwest!

elle Good luck! We just got back from a road trip and I definitely enjoyed seeing the lower gas prices as we went through the Midwest. Out of curiosity, do your kids have a knack for giving you a 1-minute warning for pee stops or is it just my kids who have that talent?

The five year old is actually pretty good about warning us and/waiting until we stop. We purposefully waited to potty train the two year old until after we arrive in CT because dealing with a newly potty trained kid on a cross country drive sounded like absolute hell. So far so good on the potty break situation. *knocks on wood* And yes, the low gas prices are awesome. Our car is a hybrid so we're not really used to getting gas in the first place, and the lower prices are definitely appreciated .

I’m sure some of you will roll your eyes at me, but we are just starting our journey with Ritalin here and my goodness - they really make you work to get your meds. We had dosage issues to sort and then because we are playing with dosing it looked like we used our months worse too fast. So finally got that figured out and now the pharmacy is out of stock and won’t tell me where I can get it.
Why would they do this to ADHD people?
I mean, I know why and I get it. But argh. Really unfortunate

Really unfortunate When my kid started way back in the late 90s you could only get an RX for ONE month at a time, I had to go to the doc office every month, after calling of course and hoping the doc wasnt on vacation, to pick it up. then take it to the pharm and wait for it to be filled. by the time he was almost done taking it, (his choice at 18) you could pick up three months at a time.
its NOT a fun or easy process by any means. you'd think in the 40 plus years this has been the treatment they would have figured out a better way.
hugs and good luck.

So i just watched the HBO doc 4 hours in the capitol and I'll never get those 2 hours back. I feel like the intention was to MAYBE have a balanced view of both sides, but you CANNOT BE BALANCED when one side is so freaking unhinged.

In more pharmacy shenanigans, I had to take my dog to the vet and they gave her a prescription. My vets office is having a hell of a time getting office staff. So they have some very young lads who are not ready for prime time working there probably like day two today. They gave me the wrong version of the med we needed. So I get home and go to give it to my dog and realize it’s a capsule and I’m somehow supposed to split it. So I call and they realize they probably gave me the wrong med. then I hear them scrambling on the phone trying to figure out who they mixed it up with. I get off the phone and tell H and he’s like “they are going to kill someone’s dog”. So I go back and they figure out they gave me the correct med just the wrong format. They gave it to me in capsule instead of tablet. Thank god because I was really worried about someone else’s dog. At least it was just a small dose of antibiotic. But still…

We're basically not eating anywhere indoors, but specifically choosing places with outdoor accommodations and few people eating outside on purpose. It sucks because I would have really liked to take a bit more time on this trip and actually do/see some things. #thanksalotcovid

I'm pretty sure that place had tables outside, but I'm not sure they had table service outside. In your boat I'd stick with what I know too.

We are at the beach with my ILs for our yearly vacation. We skipped 2020. We used to rent a condo but got a house to avoid people. And I have to say that I don't think we will ever go back to a condo. I love having some space if I need to get away from everyone for a little bit. The past few days DD2 has been so tired from the beach that she will fall for a bit before dinner. I sit on our balcony with my book and a drink. Never want to leave!

We’re supposed to head to the beach this weekend. DD has some sort of respiratory crap, but is still testing negative for COVID, so we’re in limbo as to whether we’ll get to go. We’re sharing a condo with my ILs, who have a ton of health problems that make them high risk, so we won’t go if she’s still sick.
