It boggles my mind, after all these years, to see someone that still doesn’t know how to wear a surgical mask properly. Spread it out! If it just barely covers your nose and your top lip, you’re clearly not doing it right.

DS got his second vaccine yesterday! Of course he had a sore arm in the evening but whatever. But then he woke up at 4am saying his head hurt, his tummy hurt, he felt like throwing up. He was burning up , so he got Tylenol. I am exhausted, working 12h today. He had baby spit ups, no actual puke at least, and his fever was gone by 6:30 when I left for work. He kept saying ITS THE STUPID SHOT THAT MADE ME SICK AND I HATE THE DOCTORS. So I chuckle and DH says hey it was a nurse that gave it to you so blame them not the dr! So now he keeps yelling I HATE THE NURSES WHO DID THIS TO ME. Except now I won’t get sick and die from the virus (bc he is still adamant that he didn’t have it when we all did). And DH laughs and I’m like asshole! *reminder DH is a doctor and I’m a nurse so we just rib each other and laugh when DS says this shit. The baby HATES getting shots and always gives nurses the dirtiest, most betrayed looks, and I feel so bad for them!

I think being a nurse who gives babies and littles their shots must be the hardest job.

I thought NYS required all medical facilities to still require masks but I was surprised when I went to the GYN today it’s optional. Most patients decide to wear them and the staff wore them if they were interacting with a patient that was masked so better than nothing but I was caught off guard.

Interesting. I might reach out to her because one significant thing I noticed was my toddler's balance. He's walking fully independently as of this summer and getting stronger/ faster, but he was a lot more unsteady on his feet last week.

I'm wondering if that awful dizzy/heavy headed thing I get when I covid rebound is actually vertigo

The very old people NEVER had the mask over their nose. So it was just me and my mask doing all the work.

I mean, not you, the people that aren’t wearing masks correctly. They’re choosing to wear it, but it’s not doing anything, so why?

I hadn’t even thought about it as a possibility. (The test was negative and I got better after a couple of days.)

And then she demanded to be in a room alone bc she was terrified her baby would get monkeypox. yet you won’t wear your damn mask correctly?? What is wrong with you?!?! I got so annoyed

I'm having a really fucked confluence of events over here. First, my wellbutrin was increased 2 weeks ago and it was making my heart race and getting worse the past few days. Like a few times the past few days I'd be standing in the shower and my heart would pound so hard I'd be breatless. I messaged my doc yesterday and she said to stop taking it immediately and come in.
Well, I also have had a "cold" since Tuesday. I took a rapid and it was negative. But they tested me again today and I have COVID. And my BP is 130/100. My usual is like 100/70. I suspect this has been happening since before the COVID, however, because I was having some weird head pressure shit but I didn't know or tie it to BP.
We think the COVID is exacerbating the stress on my heart that the wellbutrin was causing.
I've been laying in bed for like 2 hours and my HR is just stuck at 100.
My doc gave me some instructions of what HR triggers me to go to the ER but fuck me y'all. I'm hoping that in a few days as the wellbutrin leaves my system everything calms down a bit.
I don't even know what I need. Covid for me right now is a mild cold and a very sore throat and mild fever and that part i can deal with. But my heart....I'm just a little freaked out.

starbuck , that sounds really unsettling and I hope the wellbutrin gets the heck out of there fast! Covid for me was a couple of days of flu like symptoms, but I am also super freaked that the doctors thought I might have developed a bleeding disorder and could be behind my constant cyst ruptures and I developed a new food intolerance. It can really mess with you in sneaky ways! I hope this is all just temporary for you.

I skimmed the new CDC “guidelines” for schools… boy, I’ve never seen so many words to just pass off all responsibility 😒 Just wow. We’re really on our own.
