How far along are you? 28 weeks + 0
What type of appt? Regular OB appt and Growth Ultrasound
How was it? Good! BP is a little low which explains the fainty feeling I keep having. Little girl is estimated to be 2lb 11 oz, a little on the big side but I don't think GD is a concern. I do my GD test tomorrow anyway. I got my TDAP shot.
Any feels/vents/etc? I only have 4 more appts left for the whole pregnancy, barring issue. That includes 2 more growth scans at two of those. Then we're done. DONE. Estimated c-section date 9/27, but they don't book surgery out further than 1 month.
Next appointment? In two weeks, regular OB appt.

No appts. this week for me. Been tracking my BG for about a week now. It's interesting how much of what types of food causes such variability in BG. I'm worried that I've not been able to get my fasting BG down, it's just a couple pts. under or over the allotted threshold. Not sure what to think of it. My fasting during my 3 hr was excellent though so might experiment with not snacking at night? mkrupar, how are you doing? I think we're the only ones dealing with this? Anyways I'm glad we're tracking my BG even though I'm not officially dx with GD. Maybe after couple wks of tracking I could well be. 😩 My fasting numbers are my challenge numbers as well. The first few days they were high (not astronomical, but higher than they like), then I had a good streak going of in range numbers, but the last two mornings they've been high. Friends who have dealt with GD said they had the same challenges with fasting numbers. The dietician said it doesn't surprise her because placental hormones are at their highest in the morning and that can have an effect in blood sugar. My MFM said if the high trend continues she may put me on medication for night time. I see her on Friday for NST/BPP and log review, so I'll see what she says then.

Appointment went well. Measuring right on track. Yay. So I think I did the "50 minute" glucose test rather than the 1 hour. Should be fine right? The fruit punch wasn't that bad. I only started feeling gross at the end of the appt.

mkrupar, were you able to pinpoint what you ate the night before and see a pattern? I'm totally seeing a pattern and experimenting. I also read that the duration of time between bedtime snack and morning test could alter. When I got under was when i noticed it was at least 9 hrs of time lapse. Anyways I have another week to experiment. Well it'll only be for a short while if we need to be on glyburide from what Ive been reading or something similar.

It's not so much what, but when and how many carbs for me (so like chocolate vs. fruit doesn't seem to matter). I cannot eat more than a 15 carb snack before bed or I will be high, so I try to stick to snacks that are 9-10 carbs with a cup of hot tea with cream and sugar free flavoring (English toffee, salted caramel, etc). Last night was a weird night in that I ate a dinner that only had 12g of carbs, but got home an hour later and had a piece of sugar free apple pie, which was 25g carbs. My number was fine 2 hours after the pie, but I skipped my bedtime snack and woke up high. I think another factor that will make me wake up high is if I've slept poorly. I haven't slept well the past two nights and both mornings I've been high (and when I say high, I was 95 yesterday morning and 97 this morning with a threshold of less than 95, so not super high).

How far along are you? 28+3
Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? Besides the PSD and painful Braxton hicks ramping up this week, I'm feeling good. Energy level has been pretty consistent, thank god for that.
Appt. update this week. What type of appt? Glucose test and check up
How was it? Besides the fact that you have to chug a cold drink, the glucose drink isn't bad at all. Maybe because I love sugary things? Idk but I hate when ppl over hype it. It's not a big deal at all. Also, heard baby's heartbeat and everything else is on track.
Any feels/vents/etc? Going into this pregnancy 20lbs heavier than I would have liked has not been awesome. I'm at the weight I was when I delivered my daughter and knowing I still have 2.5 months left is terrifying. I'm coming from a point where I was heavy all my life, lost 100lbs (in the span of 5 or so yrs) and now the scale is creeping back up closer to my heaviest, and I'm trying to supress and ignore all the feelings.
Learn anything new? Nope
Next appointment? Every 2 weeks until 36 weeks now! Starting to feel more and more real!

How far along are you? 28+5
Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? Feeling pretty good, minus some lady bits pressure when I'm on the toilet. I should be happy that's the only time I feel like it's swollen beyond belief.
Appt. update this week. What type of appt? Glucose test and Tdap
How was it? Good, the drink was not nearly as bad as I expected. I went in thinking it was this nasty, thick syrup but was pleasantly surprised to find out it's just water.
Any feels/vents/etc? Feels? Just that I need a nap now, lol. H got up at 4:30 today and I couldn't fall back asleep so a sugar crash is in my future.
Learn anything new? Not really. I forgot to ask my doc who should get the tdap. Just people planning on coming to the hospital? First 2 months? First 6, 12?
Next appointment? 2 weeks from here out! I made my next 3 appointments today.

cythe my OB advised anyone who is going to be in regular close contact with the baby should get the TDAP. I know some people are very cautious with this and literally require every single person coming into contact ever with the baby to get it. We just asked grandparents because they would be frequently around baby. We just made our friends wash their hands before holding baby. Also, I believe baby gets its own vaccine for P, D and T at 2, 4 and 6 months and so on..so they get some added protection as the months go by. It's really that first two months before they get anything that you want to try to minimize huge crowds of people gathered around your baby.

Also forgot to add you'll want to ask those same people who get TDAP to also get flu shot

Oh and don't let people KISS your baby. There was just recently a heartbreaking story in our area of a baby who contracted herpes through a kiss at a week old and unfortunately passed away

mkrupar, you're right about correlation of sleep and am levels. I totally see a pattern for me. Also same here that refined carbs are def out for me. I'm totally fine with whole grains and seem to be able to tolerate any amount of fruits of any sort which is a relief since I can get my carbs from them. I've also not been portioning my meals. I'm eating normally which the nutritionist said was ok to do so we can see what triggers sugar spikes. I def. see that I need to balance out proteins vs carbs. And can only tolerate the min possible carbs to stay well under postmeal thresholds. This am I had the best BG -83 ever in a week; slept reasonably well and snacked earlier than usual so had over 8 hrs before am test. All the others, I had less than 7 hrs between eating and am test. Will experiment again tonight but can't control how rested / sleep I get so it would be interesting. Also upping my protein at nighttime snack.

duskymonkey I had a good night's sleep last night and still woke up at 95. That's right at the threshold, so I don't know what the doc will say tomorrow. I need to email my logs over tonight.

How far along are you? 29 weeks 2 days today! Share with us how you're feeling, any concerns? Feeling really good for the most part. My boobs hurt and my back is getting sore between/under my shoulder blades, particularly if I spend too much time standing/walking and carrying stuff Appt. update this week. What type of appt? Midwife appointment Thursday morning! How was it? Good! HB is good and the midwife said she was pretty sure baby is head down right now (obviously it's still early). Fundal height is measuring about a week behind but I did with DD too any she was average size. Any feels/vents/etc? None! Just crazy how soon our due dates will be here! I'm already at 29+5! Learn anything new? My midwife is away for August so we will be seeing someone else for the next two appointments, but no big deal! Next appointment? My midwife appointments are every other Thursday until I start with weekly! So August 10 is the next o

mkrupar, glad your dad has been such a great support for you. I'll repeat this again, he sounds like a super awesome dad. Don't worry too much, your numbers aren't super high and if you need meds to control so be it....sometimes our body just don't want to cooperate and it's for a short period. I've come to that conclusion and ok about it. Stressing over it isn't going to solve it. Hellejujah to modern medicine! I think upping up my protein at night helps with my am levels too and I'm going to try just protein and omitting carbs and possibly not even snacking at night. The nutritionist said nighttime snack isn't critical just that it helps with am levels but everyone body reacts so differently. You got this mama!

I saw the headlines but couldn't bring myself to read it cos I was already tearing up from the headlines. So utterly devastating. I can't, just can't. ðŸ˜

How was it? Short and sweet. Any feels/vents/etc? I thought I would weigh more than I did so that was comforting. Learn anything new? Baby is head down (although st this point it's not super relevant), heartbeat was 140, measuring at 27cm (I'm 26w5d). But I did learn our practice is getting two new docs so my chances of having my doc be on call dropped from 50% to 25% Next appointment? Next week for Glucose and Rhogam and then the following week for another OB check up. Read more: howeverithappened.proboards.com/thread/3978/appointments-week-july-24?page=1#ixzz4oAwziKRB
