The yard was great and it's a super quiet street... I'm waffling!

We decided against it. We like our current house enough (and it's on the same street as the school our kids go/will go to) that we should only move for the absolutely perfect house, and that one wasn't quite it.
Plus I love our bathroom, which we renovated last year, and every time I see another bathroom I'm reminded of how much I love ours lol.
We were contemplating a second story addition but then it suddenly occurred to me that we could expand the house laterally into the front yard, and first floor additions are quite a bit less expensive than second floor ones. So we may start the process of looking into getting plans and quotes for that.

I've seriously considered paying for a basement to be dug out (we have a 5' tall crawl space) but I don't think I can convince my husband to spend that $$

You can get a good feel for the build line if you compare houses on your street. It might be different, but definitely talk with your city and get a Plat Survey to see what you are working with.

MH is in board with an addition, but I just want to get an idea of how much an addition would truly cost! If it's within a certain range, I think it would be worth it because we bought our house for a really good price and we really love our location.

Yes, I figure there will be strict rules about that. Most of the houses on our street are situated roughly where ours is, but there are several that are quite a bit closer to the street.

Me right now after applying for a job that I feel is way above my ability. But fuck it. The manager actually called me out for the position.

As someone who hires people, this is 100% the time to go for all of the reach positions. This is the time to make leaps, because employers are so excited for anyone willing to try for it. Even if you feel like the position is beyond your current knowledge, your manager feels like you are up for the task of learning it and that’s great.

I’m here to confess that I bought my first Christmas 2022 gift this week. Trying to do it slow and steady this year so it’s not such a drain on the bank account in Oct/Nov.

Oh dear, the manager wants me to start 8/1. No way that is happening.
No word on salary, but this would be a promotion.
I need to research average salary to get an idea of what I should expect.

Not completely in the bag. I’m waiting to see the money. This is a lot of added responsibility on my part for our plan, forecast and reporting system. I have no problem telling them no if it comes in low.
