I'm bemoaning the last of my coffee. I want more.
I met my MIL last night. It went well. I made homemade sopes and baked pistachio bread. The kids for the most part behaved. L decided to skip his nap so he was a bit on the loony side. MIL asked if I gave him chocolate. lol.

This was my weekend. Watching the boys play well together...and then seeing Leo get upset cause Alex took his toy. A lot of not nice hands from him. & aw'ing the sope making process. My mom would be proud. {Spoiler}

littlelion I'm so glad meeting your mil went well. Those sopes look yummy! Are they a lot of work? Afm, our AC was fixed for a total of 36 hours, until it decided to shower K and I while I was changing her Sunday morning. A tech is supposed to be coming by today. This is the saga that doesn't end, I swear. I hope to be laughing about this in a few years. Our weekend was good, we went to the splash pad on Saturday and K was really into it. The first time we went, she was hesitant, but this time she ran around like a wild girl. Im so glad we tried going again. Yesterday we went to a car show and hung out with the ILs. All in all a really good weekend!

I'm home from work today because DH threw his back out yesterday at a family cookout and I think I'm going to try to drag him to urgent care later to get him checked out. Crossing everything that our crappy insurance covers it.
Other than DH's back and DS missing his nap, we mostly had fun at that cookout yesterday. DS tried a slushie for the first time and his reactions were hilarious. I don't think he was expecting it to be so cold!

We just arrived at my IL's. It's a 5 hour drive and we'll be here for about a week. The kids travelled better than I imagined and now there running around. Unfortunately it's colder here than at home, but I'm hoping the weather gets better during the week so we can hit up their local beaches. I hope the kids nap and sleep well. That's always a bit of an issue when we visit.

FFFC: I have never taken Leo to a splash pad. I need to try this summer!

We did very little this weekend and it was wonderful.
Saturday we went to the bounce house and I cleaned the house from top to bottom and got all the laundry washed, folded and put away. Yesterday our only trip out was to the grocery store. MH is in a basketball league and they had a double header, so he was gone most of the evening and the boys and I just hung out in the backyard.
Now I just need Friday to hurry up and get here again.

littlelion Sopes were LBB's favorite food when he was 10/11 months. I haven't made them in years, but you're reminding me I should! It's wet and rainy here, feels about right for a Monday. We had a good weekend, met up with DH's law school friend who was in town and got to meet his kids. We haven't seen him in 13 years! My college roommate gets into town today, so we're going to be getting together with her and her family some time this week (we've seen them much more recently Saturday night DH and I went to an adults only party, which means in the past month we've had more date nights than we have in the past year. (And we've had 2)

jubilantsquirrel, how old is your LO? I'm trying to figure out what age is good to try a bounce place out. I think K may still be too little.

My shoe broke at work and I had to put it back together with super glue. Guess I'm going to have to go shoe shopping. What a shame.

jubilantsquirrel , how old is your LO? I'm trying to figure out what age is good to try a bounce place out. I think K may still be too little. He's 3, almost 3.5. The first time we went there it was for a birthday party and he was 14 months old. It was ok at that age, but mostly because the place was rented out for the party and there weren't many kids there. I think we started taking him more often after 18 months. Our place is pretty big and they have a couple bounce houses for kids 3 and under, which is nice when it's crowded and there are a bunch of big kids running around. Ours also has a big play structure with slides and a ton of play kitchens, houses and train tables. So there's a lot to do there besides bounce.

My shoe broke at work and I had to put it back together with super glue. Guess I'm going to have to go shoe shopping. What a shame. At my sisters graduation, the top of my sandal ripped. I bought duct tape at the book store. And it was a platform sandal...so that duct tape was very obvious...lol

I felt really silly hobbling to the machine shop to look for super glue. Maybe I should just ask them to 3D print me some shoes.

The ME is on her way over for a life insurance exam. I'm not looking forward to it. I've already warned her about my fear of needles and that I will definitely cry when she takes my blood.

Hello everyone!
My weekend of solo parenting went smoothly. As soon as MH got home yesterday evening I passed L to him and made enchiladas for the first time. They were delicious, I will definitely by making them again.
My parents, who were also away for a few days, came over this morning and L was overjoyed. My dad plays with him nonstop and hearing his little laugh just going and going is so adorable. I can never make him laugh quite like grandpa can lol. They also babysat for a few hours so I could work on school stuff.
We had a scorching hot weekend and it cooled off dramatically today, which is nice. We'll be going for a walk in the river valley before dinner and I hope MH makes it home in time to join us.

I hate having blood drawn, too. I get faint sometimes so I always ask them to let me lay down now. It'll be over quick! ETA: or since, you posted this over an hour ago, I hope it WAS quick and painless lol.

Urgent care thinks DH has a pinched nerve and prescribed some stuff that should help with the pain and inflammation. I'm a little bummed that I missed the shot they gave him in the butt, but I'm glad he's feeling a little more like himself right now.
Thankfully Monday and Tuesday are his weekend, so he has some time to heal. I just hope he's okay to go back to work Wednesday because he's had to call out so much lately already.

After many, many days of rough bedtimes and nights, V only took 1.5 to get to sleep and slept through last night. I am so grateful, I was hanging on by a thread.
Friday was our halfway point for summer school, and I am counting the days. I'm glad V and H are getting bonding time, but I'm also super jealous of how much time they're getting together. There's also a lot of pressure on me when the school day ends to be "on" for V since H wants a break, but it's not easy with my job, and especially with our rough nights, I've been dealing with very needy kids around the clock.
We had more mild weather today, though, and I got to get out and exercise with V, so I'm feeling better than I have in a while. Hoping this is a good turning point in a lot of ways.

lildiamondeyes Glad you liked the playdoh recipe! Our batch is still holding up well. I might make another color this week...I think DS is getting sick of green... letthewookieewin Glad your H was able to get some care for his back. Fingers crossed the meds work and he is better by Weds. littlelion Glad meeting the MIL went well - those sopas look soooo good. Mexican food and Amazon Prime are the two things (besides family of course) that I miss the most from the USA!

Our Monday was good! We're almost unpacked and settled into our new place. I still have to figure out the nursery for LO, but my due date isn't until Oct, so I am hoping he decides to stay put and give me some time to sort out that disaster 😅😅
DS loves the new place and has finally adjusted I think. He is now napping again and loves his big boy room. We set up his safari tent in the corner and put some fluffy pillows and a blanket in there, along with some books. I'm hoping he takes to it as his "quiet time space." Fingers crossed!

I recently tried Frontera Grill's Green Enchilada sauce and really liked it. And more importantly my DH loved it esp since I bake the enchiladas. My dad hated it since he likes them made the traditional way...and extra crispy. www.amazon.com/Frontera-Pouch-Enchilada-Skillet-8-Ounce/dp/B0048IDQP6

I've been MIA....sorry!
Court is this Friday and I'm so nervous. Kids meet with the judge on Thursday and I had a dream last night that H didn't take them since he forgot. I am so worried/freaked out/stressed for this!
