If you could pick up your lives and move to any country in the world (maybe, say, to a place that values the health and safety of their people more than the "right" to own weapons... I mean, or anywhere)... Where would you move? Could you do it?
I wouldn’t. My family, support systems, and life are here. And I think this country is worth fighting for, and I’m raising kids who are going to be a part of that fight.
I think I've said this before but we've half seriously talked about moving to Holland. Otherwise I'd probably move to a place where land is cheap and the rules about growing your own food aren't so damn strict.
I really, really love where I live. I don't love what's happening in the greater "where I live." I don't know if we'll ever feel like we have to move. But I am going to actively push for the girls to go to college, and then stay, in Canada. I was planning on them going to college in Canada anyway, but Canada is also a good place to be for climate change. If Canada weren't an option and I were just pointing to a spot on a map for fun, I would be all about New Zealand.
And then there is the fact that leaving doesn't help the people who actually need the help. My girls will always be able to obtain an abortion if they need one. We live in a supportive state and have the means and legal ability to go to another country if needed. So, this fight isn't about us. It's about the people who don't have the means and ability to up and change the location of their medical care. I don't know how to fight that fight.

We are very happy in Canada and we wouldn't want to live in another country. If we ever get the opportunity to move back to my home province I think we would take it, just to be closer to my family. But we're happy where we are.
If we won the lottery we'd probably buy an apartment in Paris or a villa in the south of France to vacation in.

It’s fun to think about, though!
I don't think we would, either. My girls have cousins that I want them to continue to grow up with (even if it's across the country). It's just something I've thought about during this very frustrating "season" we're in.
I mean, I wouldn't be here today if my Dad's family hadn't fled East Germany in the 1950's and eventually emigrate to the US. So, sometimes leaving is the best thing for families to do. But, CO is currently a safe place to be, all things considered, so I doubt we'll actually go anywhere. I do have friends who are making an exit plan, though.
I heard NZ is a great place to live. It's just "forever" away and it would be hard to ever see family again.
I am always up for moving somewhere new. We've already packed up and moved away from our support systems a few times and have adjusted well. I've never been one to think I'd live in the same place forever. If the right opportunity came up, we'd jump on it. Moving overseas for a few years has always been a dream of ours. My husband grew up living all over - born in Indonesia, lived in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Japan and I'd love for our kids to at least have a little taste of that. Our top choices would be England, France, or Australia. MH's new role covers Europe and AMEA (Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa) and I hope it offers us some interesting places to visit.
I feel like I haven’t travelled internationally enough to say anything that isn’t a complete guess!
In the US, I personally loathe living in my current state. I’d love to try living in the PNW. I think we’d love the climate and I just find a lot of it to be gorgeous.
Life seems to be pulling us to the opposite coast though. It’s looking like a real possibility that we’ll be moving to milano state in a few months!

OMG WHAT?!?!?!?!?! This would be incredible. I love my state. I will start crossing all the things that this ends up being true!
