Nancy is furious. She's in the press gallery calling out the radical extremist supreme court (they don't deserve capital letters anymore) and blaming Mitch and 45. "Reproductive freedom is on the ballot in November...we can't let them achieve their goal of criminalizing reproductive freedom...what is happening here?!"

I knew it was coming but didn’t realize how hard it would hit me. This. The one two punch of the gun ruling and this really feels devastating right now. It's such an offense on basic logic too because yesterday they said that the 2nd amendment is so sacrosanct that it can not be left to the states, and today they say that the 14th amendment must be left to the states.

This is nuts. I can't remember who posted yesterday but gun rights now more important than women's rights especially federal vs state level.
I am taking today off. I can't face my gross bosses that voted for T and think Twitter is a God given right.
I live in a state that stepped up for women from Texas and I expect those efforts to grow. I am behind the scenes helpful to the patients but time to get more involved.
2016 was the worst election for women and children.

States that protect abortion are already having influxes of patients. It may be legal but it doesn't at all mean appointments are accessible in a timely manner or that people can afford to travel even further to find an available appointment. In MN, people in the Twin Cities needing abortions are already needing to travel to Duluth because out-of-state people are flying into MSP. And then people in Northern MN are having a hard time finding appointments in Duluth.
I don't mean to shit on things, but finding an abortion is going to be harder. Wherever you live.

I"m in a trigger law state, today is the first day I've seriously considered just packing it up and moving.
I also threw more money at NW Abortion Access Fund since they're gonna need it.

I don't have words. I knew it was coming, but I still wasn't ready. How do we fight this with a conservative majority on the SC? I don't understand how it's fair/legal for 6 people to essentially decide the lives and fates of a whole country.

So we are just supposed to like work and go about our business when the government has now told us that we aren’t even allowed or capable of making our own medical decisions? Cool. Very cool. Right? Sorry, I can't do my job right now. I'm mourning the death of a dream about how this country could/should be.

Society as we know it is over.
I don’t even know what to say. My rage is limitless. I knew it was coming but I’m still shocked. I wish we could rewind to 2016 and try again.

I agree but am still have feelings of worry. This state turns more towards purple/red everyday. It makes Walz's re-election much more important. There are some stronger protections based on case law and things that make our abortion rights harder to untangle but of course if any Republican is elected governor, they will try to do it anyway, for sure. I have to really hope that people see how absolutely extreme Jensen has become in recent years. He's worse than Johnson and Walz defeated him in the widest margin in 30 years so I have hope. It's thin, but it's there. Thank you for saying this! I'll cling to any hope there is right now.

I called my mom on my way to drop off DS and she told me the news. I can’t express myself because of DS but I’m sick to my stomach and could cry.

These are the trigger laws states: MI has Whitmer so we have that going for us....for now. I'm sorry to say but if Michigan has old laws on the books that prohibit abortion and it's unclear on the legality, there is a very distinct possibility that providers will not risk doing abortions until it winds it way through the courts. Whitmer may be able to veto new laws but she can't compel a Republican legislature to make a new law that fixes the old one. So there will be legal battles and we've seen in other states that while that happens, abortions are not readily available.

I don't know how to put my thoughts/feelings into words. This is where I’m at. I’m lucky I live in a blue state, but I’m tempted to schedule a hysterectomy. Right now, I am really grateful for my proximity to Chicago. Which is selfish when soooo many others are going to be fucked by this monstrosity.

I go to my gyno in August and will absolutely be asking about permanent options. But I’m so heartbroken for my daughter. She’s 8 so it’s not a discussion for today, but the talks we will have to have because she doesn’t have a voice in her healthcare. Man it’s hitting me hard.

Are there protests at the supreme court yet? Don't let those mother fuckers out. They deserve to feel the wrath.

Yep. I'm in TX, too, and honestly our reproductive rights have been over for quite awhile now. This though...I can't process it. I am losing all hope. My heart breaks for my daughter and all the kids/young adults with uteruses out there.

These are the trigger laws states: WI has three cities with PP abortion clinics and I live in one of them. They announced earlier this week that the 25th would be the last day they would be providing abortion services. I'm fucking devestated.

This is what I’m trying to explain to DH but I think he thinks I’m being too dramatic. But he’s a guy, he doesn’t understand. These fuckers have been trying to push anyone who isn’t a white male back to second class citizens who have no say. And it’s terrifying.

SD is at her mom's right now, and I'm trying to find words to talk to her about this. I've got to get her out of MO, and I can't let her mom keep her in TX either.
