Has anyone else watched the first episode? I loved it! I absolutely love the aesthetics and weaving in the animation/drawing with the cinematography.
The mid-credits scene - I have to assume those are some kind of super hero task force cops or something? lol. I can't view the woman as anything but Figueroa from OITNB lol.
I think they did a great job with casting and showing how a teenager actually thinks/acts vs making a teenager act way too mature.
I'm very curious to find out exactly what these powers are from the bracelet.

My only thought is that they wouldn’t use so many emojis in their texts but otherwise agree! 😂

I watched it. I loved it! I loved that they had so much of her Pakistani culture in there. She acts exactly as I would expect a 16 year old too. I adore her.

We just watched it. H said her mom sucks. I was trying to explain generational trauma and cultural differences are at play. Plus she totally did lie and sneak out. Very much a 16 year old.

That ant man head seemed way too powerful. I'd have figured it was paper mache not like vibranium.

I enjoyed the second episode. He’s so young but Kamran really is cute, and the accent doesn’t hurt either. I’m curious to see what the story is behind his mom. And what all the visions mean!

H and I were confused about the mom too. H asked if it was Kamala's great grandma. I thought she was a bit young for that, especially with having a son Kamala's age.

I'm definitely enjoying Kamala discovering who she is as a hero and how her power all work. It's fun. H and I also noticed that Kingo's various movie star "relatives" were the favorites they were discussing at the coffee shop.
Also, Kamala's brother has a hot fiancee. He's definitely marrying up.

When they said they were Djinn, I knew they would be bad news. I wish she had told her other friend before she found out, and she really owes her an explanation.
I wonder what all Nani knows. And why her and her daughter are estranged. I'm sure that's next episode.
Anyways, it's all very well done, the wedding was beautiful. I wish she could at least tell her parents that these people were threatening her and that she saw them show up and was worried they would hurt someone, so she pulled the alarm. Even half truths might help.
But being 16 makes one think it has to be you against the world.

Episode 4 was pretty cool. I liked seeing her in Pakistan. I know nothing about the Red Dagger, but it was cool to see a new hero pop up. I'm really confused about what happened at the end though. Did she really time travel, or is she having some major vision?
Guess we'll see. As always, I'm unsure of how they will bring this to a close in the next two episodes.

athn64 I was wondering that too about the end of the episode. It stressed me out! It would be so terrifying if she actually time traveled. Being in a different time in a place you can't speak the language. Gave me heart palpitations just watching it.

Another great episode. Marvel has done such a great job of showing the younger characters as young. I'm very curious to see if she actually time traveled or if it's an extended vision.

Last two episodes were great. I really appreciated getting the background on who Aisha was and what happened to her. I also love that her parents have completely embraced her identity now.
I hope that DoDC bitch gets what's coming to her. I'm not a fan of Damage Control at all.
I also want to know what the heck happened that made Kamala and Carol switch places. All that to say, why do we have to wait another year for the Marvels?

We usually like to wait until the series is completely out before we watch, so we finished it last night. I really loved it! I loved the characters, the look, the history. Parts of it seemed rushed, but what can you do when you only have six episodes. I hope we learn more about the Red Daggers. I loved that they Home Alone'd the school. I loved Zoe at the end saying that she was using her platform to amplify Nakia's voice to be a good ally. I learned a lot about history I had been unaware of, the Partition. It was nice to see the English (rightly) portrayed at the bad guys.
I just loved it all and already want to rewatch it.

This is now my second favorite of the marvel shows so far. Loki is my fave but this one is a very close second. I loved that she seemed like such a real teenager. I loved the embracing of her culture. It was not afraid to talk about the prejudices that the Muslim community face. I loved her parents coming around and accepting her with her powers. Her grandmother and mother making up her costume was adorable.
