And our moronic fearless leader uses Twitter to paint himself, and thereby us, into a corner re: North Korea and China. Someone seriously needs to block his ass from tweeting.

I do not understand why he agreed to be CoS. /photo/1 There's an excellent piece in this morning's Post about Kelly and the challenge that lies before him. Apparently WH aides are freaking out bc their new boss, you know, doesn't tolerate nonsense.

WHY do these shows keep inviting Corey Lewandowski on? Ugh. Can we please banish him from relevance once and for all?

He could be another Flynn who has had these bsc beliefs but has kept them under mostly under his hat while in the service. His joke about the sword and using it on the press makes me think that's the case. He might be coming from a more disciplined place but he's still willing to swim in the shit.

That WaPo article said he didn't know Trump prior to being nominated and that since being appointed, he's been able to run his own shop and have his own people at DHS. So he hasn't really been deeply immersed in the shitshow that is the WH.
So right now he's kind of a free agent. But the second he starts getting closer to one faction than the other...

The inhumane policy changes with CBP and ICE and the huge shift in DHS priorities (shifting a large chunk of the budget from CG and TSA to immigration enforcement) under his leadership of DHS make me think that he is not a great dude. He may be good at enforcing law and order, but he has also been very actively facilitating deportations and The Wall. I suspect that as CoS he will bring discipline to the White House while facilitating all sorts of nastiness.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia is on tv right now telling Martha Raddatz that the Russians are a thoughtful government who take careful, measured actions. Unlike POTUS. This is fine.

If Kelly doesn't tolerate fools he's going to have a lot of trouble in the WH, which is overflowing with fools.

I really appreciate all the prayers, ladies. Please keep them coming. Things are looking grim and they need a miracle ❤️ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I missed this earlier, but I'm so sorry for your friend. How devastating.

dc2london our bombers participate in 'show of force' exercises with our allies fairly routinely in response to any tension/escalation in that area. It doesn't give me the warm & fuzzies but it's no reason to be more nervous than usual IMO. NK would/should have expected it. I think of it as an "I see you, bitch".

I do not understand why he agreed to be CoS. /photo/1 I've wondered at least once if he didn't actually accept. Because he had continually refused Trump, and so Trump, who "whines until he gets his way", decided to tweet Kelly as CoS and just see what happens. Kelly would have to public defy the President at that point to decline the appointment and that could be problematic for him politically. There is no real basis for the theory, just something that wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Some other thoughts about this article: Declining unionization is bad for the country. Detroit had/has a great health infrastructure because of the UAW. The power of the union to negotiate good health benefits for its members also benefited non union members of the community. While unemployment in Detroit is declining, the post-recession jobs lack health benefits. Probably also lack retirement benefits. I feel comfortable assuming those are non union jobs. That means they not only lack benefits but are also less secure.

Blocking on PB is sad anyway. You'll see a "hidden post" message with the option to click to see it. Which I always did because FOMO.

Crap.
