I think he felt he wouldn’t be able to run fast enough to the ship. On top of that, he maybe had no more fight left in him. He saw that Gyn was alive. His job was done. He wanted peace. |

The premise is essentially that when women become terrorists they don’t make the choice lightly and make the decision cautiously and with much thought. Therefor they are more dedicated and committed to their cause. Jyn seems to be an example of once she had decided, she is all in. |
