Today I have a 2 year old!! I don't know how it is possible for him to be 2 already. We're headed to the zoo since it is a little cooler today.
30 +1 today. This seems impossible too. Time is moving so fast these days!!

3 day work week for me since we are leaving for vacation Thursday morning. It really can't come soon enough. Looking forward to some down time and spending lots of quality time with DD and H. CoachTsWife, happy birthday to your little man! And YES to time flying by. I hit 30 weeks today and it seems crazy that I'm this far along.

DS's 2nd birthday party went very well yesterday! He absolutely loved unwrapping presents then wanted to play with everything he got.
28 weeks today which means I am now officially 3rd tri (I think?). Exhaustion and difficultly breathing have hit me hard this past week.
I brought up with the in-laws while they were over yesterday about our upcoming joint vacation and my need for a cooler thermostat temp. FIL pushed back and said that his mom was also coming and she runs cold, and how setting to 80 is the perfect house temp. My response is that I unfortunately cannot walk around the house naked to try to cool off. I ended up having a little breakdown to DH after they left at how stressed I am over potentially having to fight over thermostat settings on vacation. Luckily my DH is amazing and said if I get overheated and sick and they won't budge on the settings he'd go home with me.

I have a meeting with HR today regarding my maternity leave. There are 5 teachers in the school district due in October!!! 3 other teachers had babies this summer, and another 2 have already announced early 2018 babies. I don't envy the higher us trying to find coverage for all of us!

Happy birthday to your little guy CoachTsWifeRearranging the house today. Making room in DDs bedroom to move DS in there. Really wishing I had a dedicated play room. My house is a nice size (1600sqft), but my kids have so many toys. I get rid of about 2 big boxes or bags every few months and seem to barely make a dent! My ILs are nuts with the gifts.

CoachTsWife Happy Birthday to your DS! Have a great time at the zoo 😀🎉 arimaythea So happy to hear your DS had a great bday party. Congrats on making it to 3rd tri too...although I can empathize with the exhaustion. Also, kudos to your H for being willing to stand up about the thermo stat. You are 7 months pregnant - they need to not be keeping the temp at 80. That is ridiculous. We keep it warmer at our place, but if we had guests or family who wanted it at 73, we would do so without blinking an eye. Today was a super productive day! I got a lot of work done, and then made my secretary come over to help me organize my home office after our big move last week. After having been in a temporary stay place for 2 months and working while on bedrest/modified bedrest, it feels amazing to have my home work space all set up and organized just the way I like. Huuuuuuge relief. Being tidy and organized = very happy taiatai 😁

I get hot flashes when our house is at 72! I'm also 28 weeks today and calling it 3rd tri

I set up my pack and play yesterday because it was mocking me, just sitting in the box. I've immediately regretted this decision. In an attempt to protect it until October, I covered it with a blanket. Louie gives 0 fucks.

CoachTsWife Happy birthday to your little guy! Congrats on everyone entering 3rd trimester. I'll be joining you next week 😀 My sore throat has turned into a sinus cold but I'm not as tired. I dropped DD at daycare and since it was coolish this morning I did some light gardening. Just some staking, watering and pruning, nothing that involved bending down. Now I'm tired again and just relaxing with the tv and my books.

CoachTsWife, Happy birthday to your little man! arimaythea, happy belated birthday to yours too! Taitai, happy to hear you're settling in well and jealous you have your home office set up. Mine is still in reno mode with a good half of it in our bedroom which is agitating me. Sigh! sometimes hubs is so stubborn! Our carpentar which he's in love with and I really really do like him too has been on vacation so we're on hold for a while. He also has another big project he's working on so he's basically doing us a favor working on our tiny project and can only come certain weekends. Anyways, we need to skim coat, mud and texture drywall and I've suggested getting someone else to do it and our carpenter can work on the cabinets which he prefers to anyways...although modding IKEA cabs may not be his fav but it was more cost effective for us that have him custom built which he did a huge wall of in our Living room and did a really fine job. Anyways, will be busy tackling my to do list int he coming weeks! Yikes! I cannot believe all of us are in the home-run for the most part!

cythe I am laughing because I was the same way with DD: I set up most things early because I couldn't stand to look at the boxes anymore. I also remember people on my previous BMB having the same issue with cats...no help there I'm afraid, my dog is extremely neophobic so I do need to give her time to get used to things, but at least there is no climbing 😂

I've been in summer hibernation mode for weeks, so it doesn't always occur to me that I might not want to die after 5min out there (can't stand heat and humidity even when NOT pregnant, so...yeah).

Also cythe I'm impressed you got the PnP up yourself as a first timer. FFC early, I have never put the PnP together, never moved the car seats and I still can't get my stupid uppababy Vista to collapse on its own. I'm rarely a DH help me person but I'm useless with baby gear.

I'm sorry you are going through it too, but it is nice to feel less alone. I finally got him to leave me alone long enough for me to wash the weekend dishes that DH kept promising to do and not doing and start some laundry. He is shoving cheerios into his straw cup, so i will regret it when I'm cleaning the cup later, but c'est la vie.

rebeccabunch we're the opposite here: I put together every piece of baby gear except for the crib. When DD was born DH didn't know how any of it worked! He's still never assembled or taken down the PnP, despite the instructions being printed right on the thing! I will admit to relying on his brute strength for car seat installation though ETA: twins, @trinitrotoulene!

The crib has also been claimed. My goal is to at least prevent a thick layer of cat hair from coating everything. I'm pretty positive once there is a screaming infant around, the cats will be nowhere to be found. Also, the PnP is not an easy thing to set up. The changing table took me a good half hour just to snap together. Ugh.

Don't let the cats by the baby! The cats will try to hurt the baby! Eye roll.

Oh I am the car seat EXPERT in our house. I can get those suckers installed nice and tight in NO time. Reflux is going to kill me today RIP SSM Ds and I made cookies. And then I overcooked them 😢

In our house, I set up all the baby stuff and install the car seats. DH I'd trust to install a car seat since I've showed him how, but he was at a loss with the PnP. I also installed the car seats into my mom's and in-laws cars.
I hadn't heard back from my OB about the glucose test I had last week so I assumed that was good news, but I figured out how to log into my patient portal to see my results and sure enough I passed! Whew!

What does everyone prefer for burp cloths? With DD, I loved the Gerber prefold cloth diaper inserts. They were really absorbent and just held up great. Those seem harder to come by this time around. They also make the flannel burp cloths, but I really preferred the diapers.

Heyyyy!! Omg work has been insane. Today is the first time I've felt caught up enough to take a BMB break. This pregnancy is flying by! I have a RCS date set for 10/18. I have bought nothing for the nursery and feel way behind all of a sudden.

I have bought nothing for the nursery and feel way behind all of a sudden. This is how I've felt for the past few days - way behind. Being a STM, I know he'll be fine with clothes, food, and a place to sleep. But I'm ready to have his nursery done and organized for the sake of my sanity.
