I wonder what would happen if he had just poured it out. Like scoop it up in a cup and then pour it on the ground. Or maybe conjure a ton of different goblets and scoop it all out.

Yet another time they completely ignore that you can't Apparate on Hogwarts grounds. In the book, Malfoy has already made the Dark Mark so the use broomsticks to fly tot he tower.
