I’m all turned around. Tell me about your coffee. Tell me about your week. And let’s make this an update thread! If anyone has any pending business - new job, sick kids, awaiting results of that thing, tell me all your updates.

I actually came home for a few days and am in the office today. Kcup with some weird powdered coconut milk creamer. It’s eh.
We start indoor soccer today. Not super excited and it’s all a logistical nightmare. But yay sports? I’ve been extremely lacking in being a good mom to P. I truly need to focus on finding her a “thing.” Like, now.
Dad is out of icu but still in the hospital. It’s going to be a long road, but it may be a road to recovery, which would be great. So I’m home for now, but will need to go back soon, at least once he is discharged bc there is no way my mom can help him at home by herself.

Covid is swirling at work. One employee was out with it last week and is back today. Another was out with a very bad not-covid (flu maybe). Another employee's daughter was exposed at DC and is spiking a fever and she doesn't feel so hot herself. Another employee has covid symptoms, but has been nowhere. And another employee just vomited, but can't get a ride home for 2 hours. I ordered KN95 masks for employees 2 weeks ago, but they haven't arrived and the company won't email me back. I ordered more from another company that are supposed to arrive tomorrow, so that's good.
2 out of the 4 schools in our district are closed due to lack of staffing. M's class had an outbreak with 4 or 5 positive kids (out of 16) while M was out with mild not-covid. She's back in school today, so hopefully the outbreak has broken (they all tested on Saturday and also are all getting in-school PCRs today).
So, yeah, it's one step at a time here.

It’s been snowing since yesterday afternoon and isn’t supposed to stop until tonight. The roads were so bad this morning, I honestly couldn’t tell where I was in the road. I had a virtual psych appointment and had my antidepressant increased so that’s cool. She also gave me the option to start splitting my stimulant so I can take a small dosage in the afternoon when I have long days or work nights. Hopefully this will help with the afternoon crash.
B sounds like he’s got a scratchy sore throat and he’s being an absolute nightmare.
I anticipate nothing else getting done today.

Hello hello!
I’ve had two cups of coffee and I have a feeling I’m going to need more. Currently eating cabbage soup at my desk. What I want to be eating is pizza.
MH is going to be really busy with work this week, so I am going to be handling everything else myself. Blahhh.
My newish job is still going *pretty* well, but there are some days like today where I still feel lost.

F is back at Daycare.
C and E are in school. Since we had positives before thanksgiving they have a 90 day grace window for close contacts. I’m not sure how I feel about that. Not to mention they are excluded from the weekly testing.
2 people on my husbands volleyball team are positive. They have a bi this week anyway.
Coffee with milk this morning. I need to clean the dinning room/office and move the humidifier upstairs.

I had coffee this morning and I'll be making a second cup at lunch time.
L had his first day of virtual school. There were plenty of technical difficulties but hopefully they smooth out tomorrow. His teacher only expects them to tune in for half an hour but I had to be there to turn his mic on and off, so the girls watched Daniel Tiger while I did that.
We've been in a deep freeze for three weeks but today is the last bitterly cold day (until next week) so I'm looking forward to spending more time outdoors this week!
I have an appointment for pelvic floor physiotherapy tomorrow and I'm dreading it. I wish I had cancelled.

Present 🙋
Coffee and yogurt parfait this morning. I am super hungry already, though, so I'm going to make an early lunch before my next client.
I need to drive to Boulder this afternoon to pick up pottery pieces we painted. And then I get to take R to roller hockey practice this evening. She was so excited to sign up, and now that she's actually doing it, she's not loving it. I think it's because she's not the best out there. I know if she just put more effort into practicing, she'd improve, but she's being kinda lazy and mopey about it.

tj no real update but she’s doing ok right now. My mom is relatively young, eats rabbit food, and exercises regularly so she’s really wanting to find a reason why this could have happened and figure out how to best prevent future occurrences. It’s the first time she’s ever really had a health issue so I think she’s struggling mentally with that. She has some follow-up appointments scheduled with some specialists so hopefully they can figure it out.

TJ I'm glad to hear about your dad!
Snacking on some chocolate-covered coffee beans while I pump.
I cannot get warm today. Brr.
Eyerolling at PBJ who was so excited that a local small biz I order from frequently now offers local pickup. Yay, I can save on shipping. Then I get the pickup email and pickup hours are between 10 and 2 on weekdays...well that's super inconveniet. And then I realize I'll have to interact with humans. Poor choices, self.

One other thing that I was going to mention is that my dad's stroke was caused by a congenital heart defect. He had a hole in his heart from birth that no one knew about and caused him zero issues until he was past 70 (my dad used to run marathons on the regular). Apparently 25% of people have holes in their hearts and most don't know about it. So in his case it had nothing to do with his lifestyle. I'm sure that your mom's doctors are going over all the possibilities with her, but I thought that that I would mention that there are situations like that.

Coffee with coffee crisp creamer, because why not? lol. I was considering going out to get coffee but it's cold and I'm cozy inside. We got our new computer chairs today, so that's exciting. Hubby is currently building them. I'm looking forward to not breaking my back with my stupid little lounge chair anymore lol. Kids will probably be upset because they're wheelie chairs so they can't climb up in them as easily XD Oh, and kind of funny, my ADHD has made me rabbithole on cash envelope stuffing videos. I've watched a ton over the past few days, and decided to start doing it (virtually though. I'm too lazy to go to the bank every week). I'm kind of excited to save money? Anyways, other than that I'm basically just waiting to be sent work so I can get started!

wow mapleme , vermont went downhill huh? I mean, we all did but you did well for so long. Yeah, our governor has been on vaccination train since the beginning. So before vaccinations there were all sorts of things done to mitigate the risk (travel restrictions, rules for schools to follow, closed venues, etc). It was all very sound, science based and understandable. Then vaccinations were well run and we have a great, high vax rate. But now the governor's main message is just, "It's a pandemic of the unvaccinated. If you're unvaccinated, get vaccinated." He has resisted any new restrictions because he feels like unvaccinated folks (the ones getting sick in his messaging) aren't going to follow those rules anyway. And I think that there is less political push from the vaccinated, since they feel relatively protected. And since Omicron infects everyone, it's just blazing through here. That said, Vermont is still doing well in a lot of ways. We can still schedule tests within a day and they are opening more walk-in testing centers. We have as close to single-payer health care as anyone in this country and it's made it easier to control that side of things. 100% of PCR tests are covered for anyone for free with no questions asked. And they've started handing out free antigen tests as they have them to hand out. Getting a booster shot is stupid easy. You can practically fall on them by accident. And last I heard from my hospitalist friend, the hospitals are still faring ok here. I also feel like this wave isn't sewing more discord (for the most part). I think it just feels inevitable and we're all just hoping for the best.

Happy Monday! The girls are at school. We wrapped up most of our activities before Christmas break. We only have lacrosse Saturday mornings through March.
I have a little work to do then I HAVE to finish this sample project for a potential new client. It has to be by Friday morning. Never in a million years would I have thought I could turn this into something. I started in August doing virtual marketing/admin assistant work for a small business 5-15 hours/week and I’m now hoping to bring on this second client to up my work load. After being home with the girls full time for 6.5 years, it feels so good to have something that’s mine and super nice I do it from my couch, binging shows while typing on my laptop. Hopefully this new client likes my work and officially hires me. I’m also a fan girl of her blog so that would be a nice perk and kinda like working for a Z-list “celebrity” 🤣
