This is what our table looked like at the start of dinner tonight. That's a (clean, but still) nursing pad in the middle of the table. A ton of folded laundry. Toys. Food. I literally called MH in and said "wtf is happening here? I'm embarrassed and there's no one even here to judge me." So naturally I'll share it with my internet friends.

Oh, and when I sent in J's preschool registration I couldn't find a single sheet of computer paper to print the form on so I printed it on the back of Christmas scrapbook paper. It was like red and green stripes, so not blatantly Christmassy but I'm sure his teacher was like "umm"...

Everything is always a mess.
My house looks like that more often than not.
I keep forgetting to pay the day care bill.
We haven't grocery shopped in a week (and were out of town the week before).
Most of our cloth napkins are lost And I can't figure out where.
I could go on...

Any time I try to get the girls out of the house to be "on time" almost always results in yelling. And then usually someone is starving or thirsty or has to pee the minute we get in the car.

Generally 1/2 of our dining room table is covered in the random crap of the day. It's where all the mail, etc piles up. We put M at the end of the table and figured that when C came along that we would need to actually keep the table clear to make room for 4 people. But instead we just gave her a tray and stuck her in the corner.

My house is a perpetual disaster.
ALL of my kids' clean clothes are in laundry baskets in my room because I can't get my shit together enough to put them away in their room.
I'm still behind at work.
The washer is leaking.
Etc., etc.

Our kitchen table only gets cleaned off before the cleaning lady comes. For that matter, she's the only reason why some things are cleaned off, after we experienced cleaning lady logic a few weeks ago and we're still finding things.
I have baskets of clothes all over the house. There's a box of new clothes sitting on our kitchen table that I need to wash so my kids have bigger clothes to wear.
There only reason most of our bills are paid is because they're set on auto pay.
Really, the only reason most things are taken care of is because things are automatic.

I have three loads of laundry in different places (dryer, folded in the a basket in the closet, and one in a basket downstairs unfolded).
I need to iron and fix our laundry sorter because I've been just dumping clean clothes on the floor next to it (it's been around 6 months).
And I need to call about an eye appointment for E and pay her registration and supplies fees for school pronto.
The only good thing is we've been keeping up with E's Spanish online learning (they recommend 100 minutes a week) and she's been enjoying it. Bonus, I've been learning a little Spanish again.

@seranu tell me more about online language learning for kids. I would love R and A to learn German (and refresh myself) It's provided by the school and this one is only in Spanish. Let me see if I can find a company name tonight. E has had some beginner lessons at daycare (about half of her teachers are fluent in Spanish), but it basically uses repetition, flash cards, and games to get them involved. You do need to be involved with them when they go through it, because it is all in Spanish (no English at all). So I need to direct her once in awhile or give her some guidance. Like explaining that in Spanish "E", is pronounced like the English "A". Once she starts kindergarten she will have half her day in English and the other half in Spanish. (We live in an area with a lot of Spanish speaking families, so this benefits everyone.)

Our school district isn't the greatest, but this is one program I am fully behind (It's only offered in a few of the local districts). It's the second year they are running this and they have plans to carry the 50/50 split to junior high. We've also been working on her mouse skills with the program (we don't really do a lot of tablet or computer games with her). It's amazing how quickly kids pick-up on it. I really wish they had offered this when I was growing up. I can pick-up on some Spanish, but I could never hold a conversation.

Yeah, Milano, I am not impressed by the messiness of your table, but it's a good try.

I had guests over this morning and among the toys on my living room floor were at least one random diaper insert, a pair of Ms underwear (unsure if clean) and a bag with all our crap from the week.
#cantcare
Granted - it was a friend who I knew wouldn't care.

Yeah, Milano, I am not impressed by the messiness of your table, but it's a good try. I mean, I was more horrified that we were getting ready to eat peel n eat shrimp just a couple inches away from all the clean laundry. My table often looks like this, but I usually half clear it by dinner time. ETA: my house also has no dining room so this table is in the living room and that's the only place we have to eat.

I try so hard to keep my dining room table clear but it never is. The most stressful mess in my house are the stacks of mail I pile up everywhere because I have no filing system. I want to spend a weekend organizing our home office and making places for all the various paperwork we have but it just never happens.
Also there is a huge pile of unfolded clean sheets outside the laundry room door.
And the pots from last night are sitting on the stove top with water in them because I didn't feel like washing them last night.

@seranu tell me more about online language learning for kids. I would love R and A to learn German (and refresh myself) R is learning German. We have a bunch of books I can make a list of. Also, look up little pim videos. They are on amazon and online. They are worth buying. R really likes them. We also have a book/electronic pen set called tiptoi that has tons of books. I researched online classes for kids and found a couple of promising options for older kids. I'll find the links.

I am past due for the dentist.
We've been out of town for two weeks and I forgot to stop our mail.
This week, I accidentally sent a work email to the entire organization from my husband's email account. Then I had to contact everyone to explain in order to avoid mass confusion.

Our dining room table is a perpetual pile of crap. I don't put clothes away except rarely, we pretty much live out of hampers.
