I'm on a ridiculously long wait list for both the physical and overdrive for a man called ove.
I refuse to by books unless it's the middle of the night and I want to start the next book in a series. Barnes and Noble has my card info stored.

I didn't find any Lindsey Kelk at my library, but picked up a similarly themed e-book through eniki that I read half of on my computer at work yesterday. Cupcakes, magic, sisters and romance. ✅ Well that sounds lovely. It reminds me a little bit of Sarah Addison Allen. I loved Sugar Queen and The Peach Keeper. A little magical realism and some romance made my heart happy. I think she has another one out I meant to read and never started.

I love cheesy chic lit. I like to read as a relaxing escape so most of the time i don't want to have to think too hard about the story or have to go back and re-read sections. I feel this way about movies too, if it entertained me for 2 hours then i consider it a good movie.
There's some truly bad chic lit out there though so when you hit on a good author it's like finding gold

I'm currently reading A Man Called Ove and am loving it. I just finished Summertime and I hated it so, so much and I felt it was mildly racist. If you like A Man Called Ove, read Beartown. It's the same author. I just finished it and it was really interesting (if a little melodramatically written in parts - though that may have been the translation.) It's definitely a book that's going to stick with me. Beartown is one of my favourites from this year, it will stay with me for a long time. I'm excited that there's a sequel coming out. I haven't read any of his other stuff, but apparently Beartown is quite different in tone/themes from his other ones, so I'm not sure if I want to read it.

Love: Angela's Ashes: heavy, but oh so good. HP, have read series like 3 times Anything by Phillipa Gregory, I'm fascinated by that time period Blake Crouch has some good reads
Hate: I can't really name one. I've stopped reading maybe 2 books ever and I can't even recall them.

I'm mostly a lurker but I just wanted to drop this here: www.recommendmeabook.comIt shows you the first page of a book - no cover, author info, or title. If you like it, there's a link at the bottom that shows you what the book is. It's so addicting and I've found a few books that I wouldn't have otherwise been interested in.

I am amazed by the people who have only ever stopped reading a few books. I'm super impatient. I have many books to read in this one life. No time for books that can't hold my interest! Bookshelves' book confession.
