I'm alive. I think. My first week back to work is kicking my ass and I'm so glad it's almost over.
DS has been extra sweet and cuddly this week for me. It makes it so much harder to go to work, but at least it makes my mornings that much easier when he's in a good mood.

The worst part of my job is being on the phone. I wish I could do all communication by text or email.

letthewookieewin I love it when they are cute and cuddly - DS was like that today too 😍. Precious moments. More of the same going on over here - moving into our new place and getting everything unpacked/organized. DH goes away for a trip to the states next week, so we're trying to get everything done before he leaves. With my modified bedrest restrictions, I am pretty worthless when it comes to unpacking😅 DS hasn't had any accidents since the horrible 5 times accident fest on Tuesday, so I'm hoping that was just a fluke. Do not want to have to re-potty train! ETA - Happy belated anniversary billmurray! Hope you guys had a great time celebrating last night!

How long do your kids screw around in their beds before they go to sleep? Mine are close to an hour every night. Ugh!

How long do your kids screw around in their beds before they go to sleep? Mine are close to an hour every night. Ugh! DS is the worst sleeper ever, so I'm no help. He doesn't go to sleep unless we sing to him and pat him on the back while lying down next to him. It takes about 30 minutes - 1 hour for him to be totally out. So I guess...just commiseration?

How long do your kids screw around in their beds before they go to sleep? Mine are close to an hour every night. Ugh! DS usually takes close to an hour to fall asleep most nights. He almost always stays in bed unless he drops one of the eleventy billion things he insists on sleeping with, but there's a lot of flopping around, yodeling, and the finger song until he falls asleep.

How long do your kids screw around in their beds before they go to sleep? Mine are close to an hour every night. Ugh! My kid is normally about a half hour. Except on Tuesday where it took two full hours, and him screaming for us twice before he finally passed out. Last night was an hour, but thank goodness no screaming for us to come in his room and sit with him. I'm looking forward to Saturday - my sister is having a pool party at my parents' house, and swimming normally wears him down to fall asleep pretty quick.

I've been so extra tired this week. I think because it's been super hot and humid, but either way I'm super glad that today is the last day of my work week - I need weekend again! And, actually, for my child to actually sleep past 6:30 a.m. this weekend would be nice, too.

We are about to get ready to go visit my friend and her daughter. I wanted to go to the zoo but rain is on and off today so it's a no go. The kids are so cute together and are hilarious so should be a good time.

How long do your kids screw around in their beds before they go to sleep? Mine are close to an hour every night. Ugh! This was us not too long ago. I finally pushed his bedtime back an hr. Sometimes he'll come and ask to be put to bed so it's working for us.

The worst part of my job is being on the phone. I wish I could do all communication by text or email. I hate talking on the phone. Ppl at my company like doing IM. Which isn't able to be saved so I don't like that...I need paper trails! Even with my friends I prefer text sometimes. If we're making plans I need to see in print what we decided on. Mom brain. Plus I can show them the text when they're late

Getting drenched by the rain was bad enough, now I get to sit in a cold office.
I didn't do laundry last weekend so L has been sporting 4T shorts. They stay on him but look kind of long. And I've been forced to dig deep in my closets which isn't a bad thing. I wore 2 dresses and a skirt that I had forgotten all about.
I will not shop today. I will not shop today.

How long do your kids screw around in their beds before they go to sleep? Mine are close to an hour every night. Ugh! My 2 year old doesn't, but he also needs songs and rocking for 20 minutes. My 5 year old? There's singing, talking in bed, playing with legos in bed, and frequent trips to the bathroom for at least 30 minutes. Last night: "Know why I put my pajamas on? Because I thought they had pockets. I wanted to put my Lego guys in my pockets and sneak them to the bathroom to put their helmets on because I couldn't see in the dark. That's why I was going to the bathroom so much last night."

I'm sitting in a state meeting re:Healthcare and the speaker just opened with:
"Welcome to a quiet day in Washington D.C.. I'm sure there will be no reason to check twitter in the next hour and a half. Well, I'm sure a lot will be happening, but nothing's going to change."

I'm so happy to have a/c today. Our power went out for six hours yesterday when the transformer behind us blew. We lost power four times in the last week-ish, but those were fuses. The transformer finally crapped out. We got power just past 10pm last night. We could see the workers on the pole next to our backyard and H opened the patio door and yelled thank you at them lol.
But I'm so tired. I can't sleep when the power's out. I get nervous about so many things. Plus it was hot af. E had a hard time in the MOTN (she went to sleep like a champ, well past her bedtime because we were helping elderly neighbors get their generator going) and I'm just useless.
I started keeping track of all the new words E is learning. She's added like 60 words in the last month, it's insane. Today was "shiny" after watching Moana with the crab scene song. Except she was saying "shimy" lol. She tried to say Moana but it was just wah-wah. My heart, my heart.

I took the less chill twin to the dentist today for a filling. He was so stoned he was laughing at the wall. It made me belly laugh at the pure joy. He is very reserved with his emotions it was great to see.

He'll come up to me and say, "Crabby Crab? Shiny? Yes?" The Moana love is strong with him.

Taitai, unpacking is the worst! I hope you manage to get most of it done before your H leaves. We moved twice in the past 10 months and I personally find it so stressful.

We spent lots of time outside today and it never got as hot as the forecast called for. My husband worked all day but he has to go back out from 9pm-3am to collect some time-sensitive data. That means I'll have trouble falling asleep because I'll be waiting to hear him come home.
He's also leaving tomorrow morning for 3 days so I'll be solo parenting for a while. This is the second weekend in a row that he'll be gone. He also works a lot of late hours because of it being field season, and L is no longer excited to see him on the odd evening that he is home. He will actually shake his head and turn away when daddy comes through the door, and he cries if my H tries to take him. We're both looking forward to the summer being over because he'll go back to working normal hours (for the most part). Fortunately he was here for bath and bedtime tonight and L warmed up quickly!
The good news is that my mom and I have planned a one-night getaway to a nearby city for next weekend, so I have that to look forward to!
