klongoria11 that is not ok. Have you message the teacher to confirm the date. Maybe she means next Friday.

That's insane, @klongoria. I'd email her for sure. I hope she answers you all.

klong11 I'd email the teacher, but I think it'd basically just say, "fyi, I will have C do a few pages, but she will not be completing all of the homework because it is far more than can reasonably expected to be done." Or something to that effect. No way I'd have C do all of that unless she really, really loves doing worksheets.

klong11 that is a crazy amount of homework for a 2nd grader. I agree with inthekitty and I'd message the teacher and let her know you will get done what you can. We have 1 front page worksheet nightly, either math or English. That teacher is delusional with the amount of time she thinks families have in the evening.

klong11 I'm glad your scan was clear but damn, I wish they could figure out what's going on.

klong11 that is ridiculous. S has 1 math worksheet nightly and usually a wordstudy assignment. 15 minutes tops. I would be reaching out to the school. That's too much at this age and I'd worry about kid burnout.

Coming from the teacher's side of this too, why would you assign 33 pages of work when you have a class of 15 to 20 kids and you have to look at 33 pages per student? It makes no sense on either end of it.

It's literally an entire Unit. She responded to the other mom with "Yes" then again with "they may have some time to work on it in class"
The problem is she gives the kids options on what they want to do and some of the apps they work in are like games, so the kids are going to pick to work in the math game apps rather than doing math worksheets. Its like when Cadence has seesaws that involve drawing and then writing captions of what she drew. She does the drawing then just drafts the assignment and moves on to the next drawing. She skips all the writing because she hates it.
This teacher is all about independent learning, which is fine, but not when the kids are given too much freedom and thus get none of their work done.

I’m sorry you didn’t get answers from the colonoscopy klong11. That sounds like what my H has been dealing with for like the last year. He has elevated liver enzyme levels and abdominal pain but all the tests he’s done, including colonoscopy and egd have come back fine. I hope they can get you figured out soon. Also big fat nope to all that homework. The only homework H has come home with was to make a spooky house and write a story about it and I think we had a month to do it.
