Do not paint your toes with a toddler around. In the 5 minutes since polishing my toes, Abigail has managed to sit on 2 of my toes, getting polish on the seat of her pajamas, and then 2 minutes later stepped on a couple other toes. This polish job is going to look very professional I'm sure, lol!

I know people were raving about the Melissa and Doug Water Wow books a couple months ago. I finally got some and they are awesome! If anyone is looking for birthday gifts, these are great. They are reuseable and the water pen doesn't leak. Abigail loves it and so do the twins.

Good luck on your to do list Betweenthelines ! Glad your H is helping you keep organized, that's a lot on your plate. I need to make a copy of myself. Here is my list just for the shower/ds's birthday on Monday: Tonight I have to do the antique windows for the shower. I'm writing on the window panes. Tomorrow night I have to go to BJ's and the liquor store. Saturday Morning I have to make finger sandwiches, then somehow I just volunteered myself to GO to SIL's at noon to help her assemble her wedding invites. Then come home and do dinner and baths/bed, then go to MIL's after the kids are in bed to help set up for the shower on Sunday. Sunday - wake up at the ass-crack of dawn to make cupcakes for DS's class on Monday, get myself and DD ready, go to Sbux for box of coffees, get to MIL's by 9AM to finish last minute setting up. Shower is at noon until whenever? Come home to do baths/bed with the kids then ice the cupcakes I made in the morning. Thankfully H will have ds all weekend and is taking care of assembling and wrapping ds's gifts while he naps and is doing dinner for the two of them on Sunday. Real time footage of me RIGHT NOW:

I realized last night that DD's birthday is on August long weekend. So that party needs to be a different day! Of course I realized after I made the invites.

S1 comes home today. Thank god. I am pretty sure we're going to hold off him hanging with these sets of grandparents alone for any extended period of time for several years

We leave on vacation tomorrow and I should spend the morning packing. Instead I'm taking Abigail to the pool just the 2 of us. The high today is 101 degrees. I'm probably going to be up till 3am packing tonight, but whatever... it's summer!

So there is a clinical trial for laser hair removal. I've been accepted. It's for an at home laser hair removal device (so you don't have to go to a salon). They will be doing a small section on each lower leg, bikini line, and entire arm pit. At first I was bummed since it wasn't the whole bikini and whole lower leg BUT I get paid. I figured I would just take the money they paid me and apply it to getting, you know, all of it done. But if I complete the study, I get the device.
The bummer part is it is almost a 2 year study. But I'm going do it. Why the hell not?

We purchased Boss Baby on Amazon TV. DS1 started crying towards the end.
My kid is the sensitive type.

Oh and while I'm catching up, DH has friends coming in from England. They typically come once a year and have had a new daughter. His friend is organizing a big friend get together. They have several friends over our state and it sounds like rather than doing multiple stops, it's going to be one big stop.
The kicker about this weekend- DH's ex-wife is invited as well. We are still going because we really want to see these friends (and baby squishes!). Maybe the ex-wife won't show up?? DH did say he's biggest fear is that I like her.

He doesn't like Up because mr Fredrickson (is that his name) hit another guy over the head and makes him bleed. He doesn't like cars (the first one) because of the accident at the end.

Nope. After their divorce to moved into another town like 2 hours away but about 3-4 years we heard so moved back. I have seen her- DS1 was 3ish months and we were at an outdoor mall. She was having dinner with some friends. We kept crossing paths that day so DH wanted to leave. DH ran into her another time at a major hospital. He was getting on an elevator. After walking in and turning around, she almost walked in. She said she would wait for the next one. DH was the only on the elevator.

So we've been in our apartment for a month now... and STILL DO NOT HAVE A FUCKING DISHWASHER. Maintenance was last here 2 weeks ago and installed a new dishwasher. I called the NEXT DAY and submitted a maintenance order online to tell them that this new dishwasher doesn't drain either. On top of that, the pipes under the sink are now leaking profusely if either the sink or dishwasher are used. I can't wash any dishes either by hand or with the dishwasher. They haven't even bothered calling me back. I told them with the first dishwasher that it seemed like an installation problem but they insisted the appliance was defective. Clearly not. They need to call the appliance company and have them install bc clearly their staff doesn't know how to do it.

Last night my fil told H that he'd probably drive the whole way to bring s1 home. So I planned my morning around that. He just called. Wants to meet halfway. It would have been nice to know this this morning. It at the very least within the last 1-2 hours warning. Not 20 minutes before we need to leave. Now the pick up time interferes with nap time and I'm not able to make it to the store. I don't mind meeting halfway and I was surprised that he wanted to do the whole drive but I would have planned my morning differently had I known.

I'm not sure I'll do this again.
I'm pretty sure he won't get fed lunch and I just gave Ethan a snack so I'm going to have to stop for lunch on the way home after meeting halfway.

amberlie, I would be calling the maintenance people daily until I had someone at my place.. That is ridiculous. H would be knocking down their door.

I've called every day this week... every other day last week. They always say that the maintenance manager will have to get back to me. She never does. My whole kitchen is disgusting at this point because it's impossible to wash dishes without having a waterfall coming out of the cabinets. I have Tupperware under all the leaks and the bowls overflow within 5 mins of using the sink.

Tell them YOU WILL NOT BE PAYING YOUR RENT UNTIL IT IS FIXED. Light a fire under their asses.

amberlie, tell them that you are living in unsafe conditions because every time you use your sink/DW your kitchen has leaks all over and someone is going to slip and hurt themselves. Exaggerate if you have to. But start bringing your safety into play if you need to.
