Apparently both of my children think I am a foot rest. DD has her legs over my lap any time I sit on the couch, and DS always has his feet touching my legs when he sits next to me. It is the worst and I need them to stop, but no matter how often I move them, they do it without thought.
I WILL NOT BE RUN OFF OF MY OWN COUCH, CHILDREN!

We don't know for sure if we have preschool today because two of the teachers are out. So I guess I'll drive across town to see if a parent steps up to volunteer and if not, come back home.
I'm honestly super frustrated with our preschool experience in general this year.

At a town hall meeting, re: vaccine mandates.
Our programs will no longer be allowing weekly pcrs. You are vaxxed or terminated. 1/3 of the employees in our city programs are refusing the vax. Going to get wild there. The programs out in the suburbs (my program being one) have a high vax rate, but the city programs generate the most income.

It's rainy and cold and I'm working in front of the fire with hot coffee and it feels so nice and cozy.

Our internet has been having spotiness issues the last few days and it's really putting a cramp in my working from home. I could go into the office, but like, I don't want to.

Yes, it's a co-op. The parent who was supposed to work today can't because they have COVID in the house (absolutely legit reason, thank you for staying home) but that means someone else needs to volunteer to take that spot. So far, radio silence.

DS2 needs to be touching me at all times if we are sitting whether it’s a foot on my leg at the kitchen table or sprawled across my lap on the couch. I enjoy snuggling but my gosh child, mama needs some space.

I had my teeth cleaned yesterday, no x-rays - it was $104 but I was there for about an hour with the scaling and talking with the hygienist about new approaches to cleaning under my bridge, etc. Yes, my adult cleanings take closer to an hour and costs a good deal less. I don’t get it. I’m guessing they can charge what they want because there aren’t many pediatric dentists in the area and I’m a sucker. I think all specialists cost more in general, though. The practice I go to has specialists as well as general dentistry, and I know the fees are higher for the specialists. And still cheaper than when I'd get my cats' teeth cleaned at the vet, but a lot less invasive procedure too, right? And I probably cooperate a little better than my kitties did. I think it's great when there are dentists whose whole intent is making those early trips for exams and procedures as much fun and non-scary as possible. How many adults neglect going to the dentist because they have bad memories from early in life?

Good morning. I’m watching The Resident and holding DS because he had enough of the bouncer when I was trying to fold laundry. DD2 is here and watching TV in the other room. FX we get her negative covid test back so she can go to day care tomorrow.
As I finished typing that, the doc called with her negative result. Yay!

DS just fell asleep on me and I just ran out of coffee ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
I may have to risk waking him to go get more. It may be worth it.

I've figured out how to watch my cable from my phone. Christmas time is saved. I got so used to watching Christmas movies last year working from home I was sad. I love to have them on in the background.

Botox has served me well but cannot stand up against a nor'easter. I'm hurting today. I'm on day 5 of some level of headache, thanks to my period late last week and now this. I have taken too many meds, too, I know it. I hope you can get some relief.

I couldn’t work with the distraction personally but it’s a completely valid concentration tool to have something to ignore help you focus on your tasks. It’s like how working on a couch for me allows me to concentrate much better than sitting at a desk.

elodin, I’m so sorry about the HFM, it hit our home so badly one time and I’ll never forget it. My DS woke me up last night by coughing directly into my mouth (my fault for being a mouth breather lol) and I fear I have joined you in the possibly contaminated ranks. May we both survive!

At work. Hoping my daughter's soccer game is cancelled this afternoon. I know the coach really wants to get it in but it is supposed to be raining with 17mph winds (gusts higher) And on that note I expect to be out with the FD over night and tomorrow with the storm coming through. I am tired already.

I don't always know what is happening in a movie/show or miss songs completely from concentration but I can't do quiet.

These freakin kids, man. 😩 I hope your immune system is on it’s A game. I’ve managed to dodge all the crud in our house so far. Including the stomach virus MH had last week. So fingers and toes crossed my good luck continues.

Friday is supposed to be Trunk or Treat at my daughters school. I’ve spent the past two weeks collecting supplies and crafting things for it. Now the weather looks like it’s going to be shit and who knows if we’ll be healthy enough to go at all.
Sigh.

I always work with the TV on at home, i need to have a show that's light and i don't really need to pay attention to but it helps me focus. Oddly music has the opposite affect and i can't have it on
