Um, yikes. Be safe, Californians! Jesus. Why didn't the black car on the left reverse, even an inch if possible. That's super freaky.

I hate Ohio politics. We have the most awful running for office including Senate and governor.

Virginia friends, I voted today! I got there five minutes before polls opened and was finished in a half hour. Pretty long line as I left, hope that's a good sign! Quite unimpressed with the lobbying for school board recall though

We kept all our fence panels intact and the yard is only flooded with an inch or so of water, so Iām calling that a win š We need the rain but man, did it have to come all at once?

We got 4 inches from Saturday night until early this morning - so maybe 36 hours. It was the third wettest day ever in San Francisco. North of SF got more and the highest number I saw was over 12 inches at Mt Tam (just over the Golden gate). It was super windy too so a lot of trees fell on roads and power lines. And storm drains couldnāt keep up. It was wild - it was like an afternoon thunderstorm in places that get those but for 24 hours straight. It stopped around 5 this morning and now the sun is out and most of the pavement is dry.

Yeah it varied a lot by location. Some mountain areas east of the Central Valley got over 8 inches. In the valley we got about 4 or 5 inches. The inland Bay Area site I work at got less than 3 inches. Landslides and mudflows are an issue in the mountains. Hwy 70 is closed due to landslide in the burn scar near Paradise. Hwy 99 got flooded in a couple spots and was closed for much of the day yesterday. Lots of street flooding in urban areas, but crews were out last night clearing debris out of the gutters so that should be clearing. And thatās your Central Valley and Sierra storm damage report š

jkjacq I'm so sorry. I hate that once we came out of lockdown all the shootings resumed as per usual. It's so devastating, especially because those who could do something about it, refuse.

Every time this happens somewhere else, its always 'this doesnt happen in Boise' well, here we are. Then the comments of 'well I guess I should never leave the house unless i'm locked and loaded.' I'm just sooooo frustrated.
PDQ poof

Then we got 6-8 inches of snow on top of it. It was so nasty out this morning.

But it is quintessential āSierra cementā so wet and heavy! But it is going to be awesome for the snow base on the ski resorts. Even though Iām not going to be able to ski. Grumble grumble.

jkjacq Im sorry. Some days it feels hopeless trying to fight for tougher gun laws. Ahh NorCal folks. Iām glad yāall stayed safe. We had insane storms yesterday and today over here. My usual route to DSās school was closed because an entire metal pole with the traffic lights fell over. The waves along the lake weee fucking insane.
