Thanks all. I wonder how long after a positive we would have to wait for a booster. And if there are recs for how long a child should wait after a positive before getting vaxxed. Thinking that a 5-11 vax will be available in the near future and we wanted to get them as soon as they are available, but I dont know if there has been much studied in the way of el ed age kids getting the shot after covid. I asked this question last month when my son and I were sick and some lovely ladies here who are far more educated on the subject than me were in agreement that once you are out of isolation period/symptoms had improved you can get vaccinated or boosted. The 11YO will get vax’d once it’s approved and I will schedule a few ‘down days’ for him on the chance he has some lingering effects. I will get a booster after guidance comes out for otherwise healthy people who got Moderna. lucilleaustero this is what our pediatrician said when ds had it in August. Once they are "recovered" no need to wait for vax. I hope your family has an uneventful quarantine.

lucilleaustero I'm so sorry. I hope Yh and you DS are feeling better soon and that the rest of your family stays well. Fx for a negative result Tlex. That back and forth about juggling meetings and caretaking is so hard. None of this is fair.

You only have to wait the 90 days if you had that antibody treatment when you had COVID. Per CDC website.

We have already been contacted by county DOH and state DOH, as well as our county contact tracing department. Color me mildly impressed that they are as on top of as they are 1.5 years in.

I am letting DS stay home. He has a head cold. MH started with it. Covid negative but he was sent out of town by New job and he has bronchitis. I might get DS tested later. He has Student Council speeches tomorrow so I'm letting his rest today. I hope he's feeling better soon. Congratulations to YH on the new job!

People keep posting a picture of a flyer about the mandate walkout on Nextdoor, and ND keeps taking it down. Almost all of the comments are people saying “good, that’s the point, take your kids out of school, bye” and I’m finding it really funny.

DD is burning up, and very sensitive both emotionally and physically. I’m wondering if she’s achy but doesn’t know how to express it. We saw one of her school friends at the testing centre. My friend said a non covid virus with a high fever is going around in her kids’ school so I’m hopeful because she doesn’t have a cough or anything, just this fever.

I ended up calling in around 8 last night and I'm glad I did. Woke up around 11 with bad aches, chills, arm hurting a ton, fever. I finally took some Tylenol at 1am. It took awhile to kick in but I managed a few more hours of sleep and did break the fever. I feel ok other than the arm right now but still achy. It'll be interesting to see if I feel worse in a couple hours once the Tylenol is totally gone, like last time, or if that was it for the side effects.

At the school board meeting last night a guy said we shouldn't make kids wear masks. And that if they truly were helpful then we should be giving every kid a brand new N95 each morning, but otherwise it was pointless. ... ALL OR NOTHING!

She got her shot at 10am, woke up and felt fine so she came to work for 7pm and then around 9/10p she felt like she got hit by a truck. She’s hoping when she wakes up this afternoon she feels fine. Said the only thing that helped was being on top of her Tylenol.

I can't decide what to do about ToT this year. I keep going back and forth. We are doing it but just around my mom's neighborhood where they will have tables set up and just grab and go bags of treats. Cases have been on a super steep decline here also.

That should have me feeling good til bedtime.
