I’m back at work after two days off. So much drama while I was out. Now trying to calm people down.

Meh. Back to work. And more being overscheduled. 🙄 At least it's only 2 days.

Work for me. Tonight is Evie's schools Back to School night for just parents. They're doing 2 sessions, but didn't say what session each parent had to attend. I have a feeling most of us will be in the 6:00 session so we can get home, instead of the 6:30 session. Masks and hand sanitizer for everyone!

No work for me today and tomorrow. Woohoo! Glorious peace and quiet.

I have to take care of some things that I’ve been neglecting. Phone calls to make and other business to sort. It will feel better when it’s done though. I’m going to try to go to the gym at some point, too. Happy Thursday!

Hello! Work over here. Hitting up Target after for some returns and some back to school clothes for the kids. That's about all the excitement I have going on.

Yesterday was ridiculous. Got to the school to pick Cadence up from aftercare and the number we call was going straight to vm. Call the main office number for the after care program and they of course close at 5. Find another number on the board and that ends up being a different school entirely. Finally a mom came up and just started banging on the door. She said the vibration of it goes up the hall and into the cafeteria where they are....seriously?
So I sent them an email about how if they are going to list a number since we can't go in ourselves, then 1. it needs to actually be to their program and 2. they have to have the phone on and answer the damn calls!

Then we get home and Cadence start talking about how some of her classmates get to stay home for 10 whole days. Mh and I look at each other because we know 10 days in quarantine length and so I start asking her questions because we haven't been notified. One of the kids out is apparently the boy that sits at their 4 top right next to Cadence. Finally get an email from the principal about 3 new cases, but that all the close contacts have been notified, which we weren't. So I text Cadence's bff's mom to see if she knows the deets because she also sits at the 4 top with them. Ends up the boy was notified as being a close contact, thus he stayed home yesterday. He and his little brother started feeling poorly, but were tested and were negative (thank goodness). So then I was like, how was Cadence not a close contact? Oh, its because apparently for specials they split them into smaller groups and the smaller groups form each class come together for the specials class. As in even more contact with other individuals not in their main class. It's so dumb.
I also let her know that Cadence said they no longer have assigned seats at lunch. That mom was not happy about that because now it makes close contacts even more difficult to pinpoint.

All that to say, Cadence was not a close contact, but now probably wants to be because it means she would get to stay home for 10 whole days.

I get off at 2 today and it can't come soon enough.

Similar situation for aftercare at B's DC. I have to call the front desk, which is always manned, but one day it just kept going to VM. I called like 10 times. I was so damn annoyed. Front desk is on the other side of the building so I ended up having to walk through the parking lot to get there to tell them and have them call down to the DC wing and then go back to where I pick up. I was like... this is stupid, there should be a better way to pick my kid up, I just wasted 10 minutes here!

A last minute appt opened up for Botox so I took the whole day off. I’ve already worked out, done a load of laundry and gotten the Botox. Now I’m waiting on a poke bowl.

I still need fo do dishes, change and wash the sheets, get a pedicure and take back some returns.

klong11 I'd be very annoyed as well. I hope they change their process so you don't have to do that again!

I am off tomorrow and I'm thrilled to have a day to myself. Well kind of, since I'm tending to the pup all the time. Last night we had the parents back to school session over zoom to go over COVID protocols. They said 93% of the staff are vaccinated and it sounds like they have a pretty solid plan. I'm still a bit hesitant about him taking the bus so I might bring him myself to start.

Hey! First day of school for the big kids today! H was so excited to go, and S was definitely nervous but she didn’t cry or cling to me. I was so proud. Since then V and I have been just hanging at home.

@klongoria what a mess. I hope they get that figured out quick. If nothing else they need to install a doorbell and chime to alert them someone is at the door.

Hey everybody!

Not much going on here...looks like we're in for an afternoon t'storm, hoping it will hold off til B gets off the bus. C gets out at 12:30 so she's watching Fancy Nancy while I do some laundry and housework.

Today at drop-off C's teacher complimented her outfit and said, "Maybe you'll be a fashion designer someday!" To which C replied, "Actually I'm going to be a dermatologist!" Not sure if I should be pleased or embarrassed that my indoctrination attempts have actually taken hold

Morning ladies. I had my first day at work today. It was as expected, I was happy I already had something to do lined up that kept me busy for most of the day. It was a lot for me to come out if my bubble straight in to a high school with about a 1000 students & working with coworkers in a office like nothing changed. The heart palpitations were real.

I cried for 15 minutes straight after I got home and cuddled the heck out of all my babes.

Today has turned out to be quite a good day. I just got a call from my boss, they have been reevaluating pay for my position and they are increasing it and giving a little more for years of service…so I’m making $2 more an hour. Nice! It actually went into effect at the beginning of this pay period so I’ll see it on my next check.

I’ve been productive today and it feels good. Got some stuff taken care of, dragged my butt to the gym, and even signed the boys up for martial arts. Bye bye monies. 😩

So I’ve had this urge to incorporate more veggies into my diet and eat less meat. I think my body has just been telling me to do it and over the last few months it has taken root. Not really going vegan or vegetarian, but just eating more meatless meals and trying new things. I’m currently making this chickpea curry and have plans to do the sweet potato/black bean enchiladas soon. So I’m trying out new recipes a couple times a week hoping to find some good substitute dinners. I haven’t told MH so he’ll be in for a surprise tonight, but he has been changing his diet as well recently after his latest round of lab work, so I don’t expect him to be against my new plan.
