There is an amazing animal sanctuary in my little town. They started by taking in older dogs, they now do all dogs and cats. Mostly dogs that are in the high kill shelters and Wichita and Oklahoma. H and I are both on their FB page. They keep posting they need fosters to make room for more dogs to pull. H keeps showing me them. I would totally foster to adopt another dog. Im not sure how serious he is about it. Eta, this is the dog we are currently looking at.

I had such a weirdly nice day. All summer long I feel like I've been racing against the clock And before I knew it would be 11, then 1, then 4, then bedtime, and I always felt rushed, but today we did all the normal daytime things (laundry, baths, dinner, cleaning) plus I cooked a bunch, we watched the latest Ted Lasso and I stated The Good Fight, we made it down to the basement for the kids to ride their scooters and we played endless games of Uno and Wordscapes. I even Found I was online here and in my turn fb group a lot more. So much more than a normal day and it was so much less hectic and relaxed. I can't figure out why. So I went to tell MH about it and try to figure out what formula we used that made it so "good" and he's so stressed about school starting that he told me he felt overwhelmed all day. Okay then-- thanks for harshing my mellow, man! So I'm in bed watching Manifest.

lfig I hope they recover quickly, was your BIL vaxxed? The breakthrough cases seem to be more common these days. Nope, BIL isn’t vaxed. He’s very much a conspiracy theorist. And I think he’s one that thinks the govt is putting gps trackers in us. 🙄. My sister is vaxed. She was the first one in her fam to get Covid but it was pretty mild for her. BIL was considering going to the ER today because he’s been so bad. But it won’t change his mind. Now he says he’ll have natural immunity.

mwhip Glad he is vaxxed and hope he has a mild case. FX SMIL doesn’t get it. lfig yikes. Hope he pulls through. People who think like that are so frustrating. guster Did you have many days where you stayed inside all summer with no real expectations? Maybe that’s it. No planning, just letting the day flow.

We had a good day. Ended up going to the city to do some returns. We had burgers and stopped at a local ice cream shop on the way back.

That is so frustrating and selfish. I'm glad he didn't need to go to the hospital, the stories of non covid visits being bumped bc of lack of beds is so upsetting.

Hi ladies. I'm going to be sleeping comfortably in the guest bedroom at my parents tonight. We ditched out on our last night of camping. We had a great time with friends who joined us the first night. The water levels are so low because humans are destroying the earth there wasn't any good place to swim. We went on a nice hike and played a lot of cards. The girls were obsessed with the hammock and hacking away at a stump with an ax. Beyond that there wasn't much to do and we wanted showers and a good night's sleep.
MH ensured he took pictures of the tent so we can sell it. 😆 It wasn't horrible but you need so much crap for camping and it's so much damn work to set everything up. Give me a roadside motel or cabin instead and I'm good.

I am obsessed with the app and have been playing for months. It's become my relaxation thing.

My friend's husband and daughter got COVID in the fall and it was mild so she thinks it isn't that bad. Her and her son didn't get it so she thinks either she is immune or it doesn't spread like people say. She thinks it's all a lot of fake news. This was pre-vaccine and she was anti-vax but our work requires it so she reluctantly got it. I don't wish a bad case on anyone but it's almost more irritating that it was mild for them because it gave her more reason to say it is being blown out of proportion.

And just last week my grandma was almost denied transfer from a shitty hospital to a good hospital because of Covid. She doesn’t have Covid, struggling with some pretty serious neurological issues. Luckily they ended up taking her, and she’s still there. But the shitty hospital was not where she needed to be.

I don’t want my BIL to get bad sick by any means, but I was hoping this would open his eyes to the seriousness of things. Sadly, I don’t think it will.

IIRC, you spent a lot of time in the pool with the kids. Maybe that’s it. Not sure how it is with a pool at home, but any time we go to a pool I feel like it’s a lot of prep before and takes some time after to get everything sorted/clean.

inthekitty seriously try glamping, you can sit by a fire pit and make s’mores and you do not have to bring all the crap 😉. We would, but renting a motor home is $$$ and you have to book far in advance for most cabins and they are usually expensive as well. Plus because of the humans destroying the planet part there's a fireplace burn ban across the entire west coast. We have a fire pit in our yard so we can enjoy that whenever we want. Little roadside motels are everywhere and usually have availability. We'll just play our luck with not getting murdered by Norman Bates.

I just looked it up and I think I used to play an older version of this game back when B was a baby. I go through phases where I play a game nonstop for months then tire of it. Now I'm playing some card solitaire game that is also based on golf that I am on like level 2000 or something.
