I'm so glad. Except something woke me up at 5am and I thought for a brief second, that it was Saturday, so that was disappointing.
How is everyone today?

My Jeep is at the dealership...so of course it's going to rain today since I drove H's car. I'll leave work a little early so I can get H and E and go pick my Jeep up. And we have nothing planned this weekend!

Waiting at the bus stop. Story of my life.. m was only 35 minutes late yesterday afternoon so that's a good improvement lol. I'm running some errands and getting my nails done today. A will grab j from the bus since I'll still be out. I'm going to bring home lunch and then I have invoicing to do.

Work like usual then we leave for OR afterward. It'll be the first time in months. Oh, and we also need to pack still for The One Camping Trip to rule them all. We haven't camped in years and the equipment has been taking up space in the garage. We planned a last minute trip, but there are no showers (my main requirement) and after tons of unbearably hot weather it looks like it will be on the colder side (we planned to swim in the lake). So it might be so miserable we sell all of our equipment and never camp again.

None of the partners showed up today. 3 of the 4 are in Houston and the 4th is leaving for Houston today to take his grands to the Astros game. They should have given us the freaking day off. We only have 1 associate, who yes, is here, but requires no help from any of us.

Both kids seem all better (albeit a little tired still). I on the other hand am still not feeling a 100%. I’ve hardly eaten anything in the last four days, so I’m trying to eat a little more to see if that will make me feel better. Still waiting for dd and dh to fall prey too.
I needed to get some air, so we took a little walk in the forest. Brought some picknick stuff for the kids. It was nice.
Oh and I got an interview next Tuesday. I’m not sure whether I’m scared or exited.

ETA I love camping, just not with little ones, we’ll wait another 2/3 years before sleeping in a tent again.

Sierra fell last night and cut her head open. We probably should have gone to the ER and got her a staple or three. But Covid and all…didn’t want to risk her picking up anything there. So we cleaned it and used liquid bandage ourselves. We talked to a nurse friend who said as long as we cleaned it good and could get it to seal and stay covered we should be ok. 😬. Thankfully it wasn’t near her shunt, otherwise it would have been a whole lot bigger of a problem.

If you girls ever want the camping experience without the hassle of camping, I highly recommend the huttopia campgrounds. They have those huge safari tents, that are fully equipped, have real beds, each campground has a pool & natural water, sites are very private and you can get crepes, pizza and wine in the evening. They’re not cheap, but an incredibly fun alternative to hotels, especially with kids.

Ouch! lfig poor girl. We had a similar incident with M at summer camp. I also used the liquid bandage and I’m very impressed with how it healed. You can’t even tell he had a gash there.

nam2013 Remember the interview is not just as much for them to learn about you and make sure you are a good fit, as it is for YOU to learn about the job and company while figuring out if it's the best fit for you and your family. So go into it confidently and ask LOTS of questions so you can move on, one way or the other, knowing you're making a good decision! Good luck!

Camping is just so much work. So much pack to crap. Especially with a family. I'm a light packer so in theory it's easy for me to pack for trips (or it is when I go solo), but when I have to be responsible for other people's stuff it just adds so much extra time. Plus camping used to be able to be a spontaneous thing, now you often have to book sites months in advance. Years ago we did a week-long camping trip with friends. Two days at Crater Lake (way too cold at night), then two days a Shasta Lake (way too hot, but nice swimming), then 2 days in the Red Woods (just right). I was so sick of setting up and taking down the gear by the third site I wanted to stay at a motel. Our friends begged me to camp and promised to set up all my stuff. I obliged. We did have a nice campsite.

We have two people out at work today. I’m stuck here with the guy that likes to talk a lot. 😩 I’m not in the mood today. Counting down the hours.

I’m overqualified. I do have some ‘demands’, if not met, than not the right fit for me. It is a job at my old high school and I do love that school. They always got the worst ratings, because they put kids well-being over academic scores, which is right up my alley .

We like the idea of camping but not all the work. we have talked about getting a camper but when the kids are a little older.
