jewels i would require masks for the party, or at least while in the bounce house. I'd also tell people ahead of time so they know, and it helps people calculate the risk willing to take.

jewels, is it increased specifically in your area, or just the general surge? With having it outdoors I'd feel more comfortable, but the amount of people is a bit nerve-wracking. Instead of one clustered area to eat, can you maybe spread out a lot of little tables/chairs so at least at the times of highest exposure they are more spread out? Have a little table with sanitizer in front of the bounce house and instruct kids to wash up before and after? Maybe even have a couple sanitizing stations around such as when first arriving and prior to entering the house?

This seems like a fair response. I immediately go to cancel it (mostly bc I don't know vax stats of others), but there's always a happy medium to settle on.

I had a lot of fun last night. Possibly too much wine, but a lot of fun.
My sister is flying in today and he flight keeps getting delayed. Hopefully she gets here before H’s bedtime because all I’ve heard about fir the last week is, “when will aunt Amanda get here?”

H and the kids took a load to the new house so I'm purging the playroom. Feels gooooood. Hoping the kids don't get upset when he leaves later today. You don't have to talk about this if it's too much today, but how are you handling the split for custody?

jewels that’s a lot of people. If your area is in good shape then I would do the masks and sanitizer. If your area is surging I would do a very pared down guest list.

It's making me super nervous.

@nam, how is your bil today? My mom said he looks horrible, since they’ve run so many test and he had a lot of iv’s, the arteries in his hands and wrists can’t be used anymore, so he now had one huge one in his neck. But he’s feeling a little better, he’s starting to get a little bit of his appetite back, which is great. We’re all anxiously awaiting Tuesday.

jewels that feels like a lot of people, sounds weird but maybe seating arrangements that are far apart and maybe even arranged seating for the parents? I’d think I’d like know in advance that there would be so many people. Pfff it sucks that we have to even consider these kind of things!!!

jewels would you consider making it a drop off party so it’s only kids? If not, I think I’d be okay with an outdoor party for the most part still. I see it the same as like a soccer game but with less kids total.

There were crazy amounts of fish in the shallow water today and everyone was catching them with their hands. Now DH took the big kids to the movies for the first time in forever and we scored a date night dinner reservation for later tonight because it’s August and our crazy schedule is going to kick in again in a week if covid doesn’t go shutting it down.

I was at a similar party in a backyard yesterday and almost none of the parents sat at all. Most of the kids are from B's class and their siblings, so I'm not even that worried about them all eating since they all eat together every day anyway. I don't even know what I'm worried about.

B/c he's in the younger class, may of these kids are only 4, so I don't think they'd be comfortable with a drop off at that age (nor do I want to be responsible for that many little ones lol).

Well I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Party City, so I think I'm gonna go ahead with it. Like I mentioned, it's an evite so anyone can look and see how many people and change their response if they are uncomfortable. I'll do my best to keep the kids separated. If things change in the next few days, I'll be eating off of captain america plates and wacking a pinata myself all weekend

I'll stay for now but would like to sell and buy something smaller with a more manageable lawn in next year or so.

We made breakfast in bed and the cake is baked, so I think we are in decent shape for celebrations. Happy birthday to YH! Big kid shoe prices are so ridiculous. I was a Dick’s for a swim cap back when M had the the head injury and came upon some clearance shoes. The only size they had in big kid was a 4 and I was shocked M could fit them. I feel like he skipped a whole shoe size, but I was just happy to be paying only $30 for shoes. 😂

Hi.
Busy day so far of just errands and cleaning. MH and MIL will be back sometime around dinner. I still have some things to do around the house and I need to get the kids out of the house, too.

Just relaxing today. We went to breakfast, dropped off some donations and I got my nails done. I just finished packing and one of my cats is anxious about it.
I haven’t heard from C yet today so I’ll reach out after dinner. His cousins arrived this afternoon so I’m sure he has forgotten all about me!

$300+ later and my kid is ready to ride a damn horse. And that's just fear, the cost for the actual lessons was even more.
Kids are freaking expensive.
Shoe sizes: street shoes are 3.5, jazz shoes are a 5, and riding boots are a 4. Wtaf? Pick a size!

It really annoys me that kids shoes sizes are all over the place.

Hey. I worked all weekend so nothing exciting to report. I’m 2 weeks in to my diet and am not really seeing a lot of progress so I hope things will start moving this week. The weather today is beautiful. High 70s, low humidity and a slight breeze. Too bad all of my patio furniture is in the garage because the deck is getting stained this week. tallb did you check the Nike website? I recently bought both big girls shoes for school and they were around $35 a pair.
