danib, It's just weird, he was fine up till a month ago!?! I've been leaving him in there since 3 months old!?! Could DH leaving be causing this? That's about the age when separation anxiety starts for a lot of babies. But it could certainly be related to your H leaving though. DS1 never really had it, DS2 has it pretty bad on weekday evenings.

starbuck, Depends on how bad he's crying and how many other kids are in there? Last time it was 20 minutes, this time not even 10 minutes but more kids were in there today. They are willing to work with us and encouraged us to keep trying. Good luck! Hopefully he readjusts soon.

Just so you all know, DH is home now (2 more weeks) and if his coming and going makes this worse, idk what to do!?! 😐 I'm worried with a baby shower, a trip to outer banks both next month, and Hawaii and a wedding in September.

FWIW my BFFs husband works on rotation as well and her kids were never bothered by it (I mean, they missed their dad of course, but their behaviour wasn't effected). C is just a very emotional child and I think that makes a difference.

Cheshie6 I take M to work with me and can't have her in the OR with me so the ladies in the front of the office keep her occupied. Some days are shit shows regardless of what I do, but I've found a few things that work. One of this biggest things right now is that I hand her off and stay right there for a moment so she knows it's ok and then as soon as she gets distracted by something I run as fast as possible away from her she doesn't see me walk away from her. I have a goose egg currently on my left knee from attempting to dive behind the copier last week.

[bir] Separation anxiety peaks around 8-9 months I think. N is just starting to notice when I leave and is not happy. It should get better, but may be a bumpy few months. They now understand that people can leave, but don't grasp that they can come back I think.

Totally off topic. I just lurked the other place (I do it sometimes, can't explain why). Of course it's still pretty much dead over there. Except for some recent activity on the loss and if boards, from a few brand new members, who all reference (in a way that sounds like a recommendation) a specific fertility clinic in the UK. I feel really squicky about it, like they read as though they are advertising the clinic.... If it were here I'd message an admin to check into it, but don't really see the point over there as she is not active.... I don't know why it is bothering me but it is.

danib You could pm the new members & tell them to come here. I wouldn't want to bring them here if they are promoting a company as opposed to being actual members. Maybe they aren't, but 3 brand new posters all wit h the same writing style, all mentioning the exact same clinic and how amazing it is because of xyz reasons. Seems fishy.

We just registered DS1 for preschool 😭😭 But I'm excited, he needs it. I hyperventilate when I think of this. M's school is all day preschool if she wants to follow into the lower school and it starts at age three. I'm thankful she's a November baby and I'll have almost an extra year with her. I haven't encountered the toddler years yet though so I may one day take that all back and pray for the day she starts school.

I thought you were saying they were all from a clinic and were told to go to TCF.

The quick trip down was great; we overlapped very little with the ILs so everyone was happy. Things are good otherwise. We're having a big bbq this weekend--so far I have 38 adults and 26 kids confirmed--so I've been ignoring work in favor of that lol How are you (besides tired I'm sure)??

My IL's watch him during the day, and I'm so thankful for their help, but they won't go anywhere with him. I think he's tired of doing the same things every day. This preschool is at a gymnastics center. It's a regular preschool but the kids get 30 minutes a day of gymnastics with an instructor. I really think he's going to love it. Not gonna lie though, I definitely teared up as we were registering him.

The year before K, the kids go to school 1 day each month (with parents the first few times) to introduce them to the school, teacher, and routine.

It sounds like a great way to get them comfortable with the idea of going to school.

We have JK at 4 and SK at 5 in ON. I didn't realize it was province specific.

B starts full time kinder next year, technically he could go to preschool now but it's basically to get kids used to routine, manners, schedules etc and he already at daycare full time, so right to kinder it is. And even then, I dont think all the schools are full day kinder, stupid government.

If it makes you feel any better, I put salt in my coffee this morning. Yup. That's way worse than a morning nap strike. Coffee is life. Until it's an acceptable time for wine.
