I’ve been off the exercise bandwagon since the first week in March.
This morning begins the May fitness challenge I signed up for. My main goal for this month is just to show up and try. Keeping the bar low. 😅

I walked over 4 miles yesterday around the neighborhood and our state park. My legs were sore in the best way.
I wore a bathing suit this week so shit got very real and my motivation has returned.

I did a 45 minute cardio workout this morning and I truly felt like I was going to puke. But it’s done.

I took a week off from working out. Back at it today with a 30 minute hills ride.

I completely fell off the wagon when I got sick in mid-March, and then I had a sprained toe, and then I was just out of the habit. So this month I'm going to aim to exercise 3x a week.

I've been avoiding these threads for months but J wants me in the pool with him for swim classes next month so I need to KA again. My goal is some sort of exercise whether it be a Walk at Home or Pilates video 3x/week. Keeping the bar low also because there were months I still didn't meet that goal.

Yesterday we walked around a lake, which I think was a little over 2 miles. I want to try to keep up the walking. Maybe M will get used to it and stop whining the whole time. Or maybe I just need to go by myself.

I've done a 2.5 mile walk with the dog every day this week.
Our Peloton arrived at the local distribution center this week (yay!) But they don't have any openings for delivery until mid-June (wtf?!). I'm excited for that to get here.

Yesterday I walked over 5 miles and then this morning when I weighed myself I had moved down to the next "decade" of weight! I'm now 10lbs from my goal.

I’m starting very small. I’m ok with my weight, but I’m not crazy about how it’s distributed and my warm weather clothes don’t fit well. I’m going for the low hanging fruit- no booze on weeknights and replaced weekday coffee with lots of cream and sugar with black tea. I’m going to do at least 10 sit-ups and push-ups a day for starters. When school winds down and I can do more than just try to survive I might do Couch to 5k, but I still have 5 weeks of school left. Any other suggestions for easy things to cut or start doing? I have a history that makes actual dieting a bad idea for me.

If you can’t pack one, try to cut raw veggies to snack on while making dinner once or twice a week. Or have it ready and out as you make dinner. And I try to add more veggies to my plate. If I roast veggies, I make a big portion to add extras to my dinners. I also love steamed green beans and broccoli. I will eat it plain for every meal if I could.

Tonight 10 minutes on the rower, 30 on the bike for 8.25 miles
I’m so out of shape.

I had a physical today and the Dr. said my weight/BMI looked just fine (my words) and to focus less on weight and more on balanced diet and activity. Where's the magic potion for motivation??

I'm trying to get out and walk every day. I am nursing a pulled/strained something in the back of my leg which is causing extra knee troubles. I am seeing the ortho on Monday to discuss actually scheduling the first of 2-3 surgeries for this summer.

Do we still kick ass around here?
I’ve been walking 2 miles twice a week for my lunch hour at work. And 10-15 flights of stairs those days. And yoga usually only twice a week but that is just not enough yoga for me. Hopefully I can get back to 7am Saturday yoga until soccer starts back up.
What are you supposed to do for a strained muscle? I already have neck issues, and we did back bends today in yoga. Something pulled in my neck/shoulder muscles and I know it’s going to hurt like a bitch tomorrow. Heat? Ice? Alternate? Muscle rub? Muscle relaxers before bed?

And take an anti-inflammatory before bed

Mh will not be pleased to find out that I overdid it at yoga.
