I've never been in such pain... it's exactly as he described and normal but shit. This hurts. I can't sleep. I had to wake my mom to open my pill bottles because I can't push with both arms or I feel like I'll pass out from pain. It's 4 am and I think I've slept 3 hours. And not consecutively.
What's everyone up to this Friday?

I had breakfast and now I'm watching greys. I think I'll try sleeping sitting up more tonight. It hurts less.

I'm at the office. We had a terrible set of storms come through over night and M came to get me at 4 because she was scared. The lightning and thunder was crazy. H slept right through it.
Send coffee. Lots of coffee.

It's the muscle stretching. It's like being engorged and having mastitis but x2 the pain. The implants go behind the muscle so the muscle is stretching and that's the pain. |

After my achilles surgery I was is sooooo much pain. The anesthesiologist and the surgeon called the next day to check on me. I was in tears on the phone with them. They threatened to come to my house if I didn't take the pain meds. {Spoiler alert}
They were right. I needed them. I'm always concerned about getting addicted because I definitely have an addictive personality. But it's only a couple days. There's no reason to suffer. |

Completely agree. I'm taking it with my antibiotics so every 6 hours. I think I'm going to add tylenol at the 3 hour mark to help with it. |

I'm exhausted today. S got a nasty bloody nose at like 4:30 this morning. It didn't stop for like 20 minutes and he was getting so upset that it wasn't stopping. Between cleaning him up, changing his blood soaked bedding (yuck), and calming him down, I got back in bed at like 5:15. I was just trying to fall back asleep when he called me back in b/c he thought it was bleeding again (it wasn't). But I ended up laying down with him to try to help him fall back asleep. I never fell back asleep myself and now I am seriously dragging.

Ouch, @peach! I hope the pain lessons for you. It's good you're being aware about pill addiction, but stay on top of it at least today and tomorrow! I always get nervous about that too though so I totally get it.

peachsmama oh no! I’m sorry you’re in so much pain. I almost never take pak medication, but I have severe back aches 1/2 a year and my gp would let me alternate tyenol (double what I’d normally take) and ibuprofen ever 3 hours. It would make me drowsy, but it helped with the pain. Could that work?

It would make me drowsy, but it helped with the pain. Could that work? I cant take ibuprofen because it's a blood thinner. But I have extra strength tylenol. |

Sorry the recovery is starting out tough peachsmama. +whatever to staying on top of the pain meds. A few days when in genuine pain usually doesn't have any issues with leading to addiction. Sorry for the rough nights tgrimes and jewels. |

I'm in the office today. I plan to finish some work quickly and duck out early. I have to work the next two days at my other job and it's always exhausting there so I need all the downtime I can get beforehand. vino I'm watching Pen15 and holy hell it's laugh at loud funny. I'm also enjoying the first couple of new episodes of Handmaid's Tale. |

I'm so freaking stressed. I don't think H is going to accept the offer he got Wednesday. He has a guy coming in from St Louis Monday to meet with him and another job is supposed to confirm by Tuesday.
So we are going into week 3 of no pay.

The speech therapist that did H's articulation assessment at the elementary school (the one that noticed air escaping when he spoke) just called me. We'll be moving his therapy from the "private school" to the elementary school, since they seem more qualified and he'll be going there in a year anyway. She saw in my email that we will be meeting with the palate clinic on Tuesday and she asked if she could join us. She also asked for my permission to use H's case in a presentation she'll be giving at HISD's speech conference. She said she wants to train the other therapists on what to listen for so this doesn't happen to another child again.
I didn't think the children's hospital would let her go because of covid but I called and they said she was a care giver so she can come! She said she was very interested in H's case and wants to get as much information as possible.

tgrimes, I'm so glad you're finally connecting with a care team that seems determined to get to the bottom of H's issues. mwhip, I'm sorry. That's a really stressful situation. I hope something comes through soon. Would a temp agency be a possibility?

Another busy day at work. I won’t be getting out at 2, but hoping it’s not after 3. Cannot wait to be a couch potato tonight. I hope the kids are in the mood to lounge and play roblox tonight because I don’t want to have to do too much parenting. I can’t sleep in tomorrow because we have an early baseball game so I’m hoping to take it slow tonight.
