I wish that meme was my life. I feel like I get less than an hour to myself these days. Dd1 is still not going to sleep until almost 9 every night, and since dd2 is still waking up very early most mornings, I try to get to bed around 10. I need more hours where I don't need to be cleaning, helping small people, or sleeping.

lollipop - your insurance situation stresses me out. Like it gives me anxiety every time I read about it. Hasn't he needed to call them for 2 months now? Or more? I couldn't deal. Next time he has a day off can you just hand him the phone and say DO IT NOW? I hope your hip is feeling better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk He's off today. I'm about to call and do what dizzycooks said, talk to them until they refuse to speak to anyone but him. It's not a big deal, usually, because we don't have to pay for doctor visits or hospital trips, just some extra things and prescriptions. It took him until after M was born to add me and the kids to the plan in the first place, so taking an extra little while to get the app set up isn't something I can complain about too much.

@kelltothekell, I hope you have a great trip. I can't wait to hear all about Yellowstone!
I'm currently trying to figure out where we can go on a family trip for October break and Yellowstone might be on the list? Or Oregon? Or Seattle (even though I've been so much for work), or or or? I have no idea... #FWP

October can be great in the pnw, but is usually getting pretty crummy around then. Although the rain is probably a novelty after living where you do. My favorite fall trip I've taken in recent years was to Grand Marais, MN. Great foliage and a beautiful area in general. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

crimsonandclover is your an related to the Prince song? I just read Misty Copeland biography and she mentioned dancing to that song for prince. I'm curious! I've never heard of it. Also, your daughter hasn't ended up with weird tick symptoms right?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Http://notjustnovels.wordpress.com

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Http://notjustnovels.wordpress.com Never heard of the Prince song It is a Tommy James & The Shondells song, though, and that's what I made it from. Thankfully DD1 has not developed any scary brain-swelling symptoms, and the incubation period is now over, I think. There is a vaccine for this, but it's not recommended for kids under 6 because it's a live vaccine and there have been isolated cases of kids developing the illness after the vaccine (I don't think any have died, but still). And because the disease usually has a more mild course the younger the child is. When you're older the actual disease is more dangerous and the vaccine is less dangerous, so that's why they don't recommend it until later.

You guys I need affirmation. It's 90 degrees and humid. So what do we do? Transplant three plants, mow, edge, vacuum and detail the car, reinstall car seats, take the girls on a five mile bike ride to the farmers market, library and splash pad, stop for lunch, refill the propane tank, grocery shop and hit Costco. Oh and I work at church in two hours. I want to die. This is what happens when I do nothing all week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Http://notjustnovels.wordpress.com

OMG dizzycooks, where on earth do you find the energy? I'm dead just from having friends over, making lunch and playing in the pool. I hope the hives are clearing up??? crimsonandclover, so glad to hear that DD1 did not develop any issues from the tick! nellieoleson, what's next for DD1? Now that her brain scan is clear (hallelujah!!), wasn't her blood work still out of whack? And yes, with kids, there are no vacations! Only trips! I had read that article too and found it both hilarious and sad. But, we still enjoy traveling with them even though it is HARD. I just read "At Home In The Word" by Tsh Oxenreider and I have major wanderlust right now!

I had read that article too and found it both hilarious and sad. But, we still enjoy traveling with them even though it is HARD. I just read "At Home In The Word" by Tsh Oxenreider and I have major wanderlust right now! She started on some medication that will make sure she grows enough. Without it her growth plates in her bones would fuse at a very young age and she would be extremely short as an adult - like far below 5' short. The good news is that this medication should keep her growing like she should and there usually is no long term effect once she is an adult. Without insurance the medicine would cost us a minimum of $18,000 a year, so all this republican health plan crap scares me. We get insurance through my H's union, but who knows what the future holds. The idea that she could be uninsurable at such a young age for a preexisting condition terrifies me. Hiya! Long hot week here, but it's finally over. Poor L has a fever and puked (all over me) but she is resting so that's good at least. We horse show again all next week. 😬

nellieoleson we leave on Wednesday. I still need to get papers notarized. Also, has anyone else read the crazy news in Cancun?? I've never felt unsafe and we don't stray far, but I speak Spanish and we shop and eat locally a bit. Seeing crazy stuff go down outside the club scene is kind of freaking me out. nellieoleson, a friend of mine had 2 boys that had to take growth hormone shots for many many years due to growth issues. Not sure if it's the same but they are now all grown up and in college and doing wonderfully! When does it slow down kcrkcs? I hope you plan a nice long break/vacation as soon as you can.

Can I talk sex for a minute? I feel like we're in a rut. We do it a couple of times a week usually, sometimes more, sometimes less. But it's basically wham bam thank you ma'am and he goes to sleep. It's not that I don't enjoy it, I do. I just want some variety. I've made suggestions, but H hasn't seemed to take them seriously, like he thinks I'm joking or something. I'm at a loss. And I don't have many people IRL that I can talk to about this.

Nothing is safe from DD anymore. She has figured out she can push the dining table chairs into the kitchen, climb up, and get whatever she wants. 😳A whole new level of DD-proofing needs to happen now. JTTW

dizzycooks. My husband had to go to Mexico for work once and he was pretty well set on never going again. Then a guy he worked with was killed there on Falcon Lake, it was all over the news. He told me we will never vacation in Mexico. So I will never get a Mexican resort vacation. But with everything being said now, I don't think I want to vacation there. scorpioscuba the heavy travel is over mid september and the last of my summer people go home end of october. So just a couple more months! 😬 lollipop I agree sometimes you just have to take the wheel. We are in the big time sex rut. Have been since baby conception honestly. We have both been trying to fix it. I took one for the team the other day with an impromptu BJ. 😎 I felt like a boss afterwards. Mexico has never been high in my list. I haven't read the articles but I think it's continuing to go down. We are having a quiet day at home while hubs does a side job doing laundry and snuggling.

It just makes me so sad. I've been many times, and to many different parts, but idk if it's the reality of leaving the kids home or what, but the risk is getting to me. Dh said next time we go to Puerto Rico. 😂 That said, I am so excited to get away!!! Cute dresses, nice clothes, jewelry...food, sleep, now I just need a few books to read. What are y'all reading? I'm not much into fantasy and sci if. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Http://notjustnovels.wordpress.com

dizzycooks - I think it's normal to be worried, but I wouldn't worry TOO much about cartel violence, etc. I would definitely still go on vacation to Mexico. Sure, some areas should be off limits to the casual tourist, but it's a big country and I think most places are fine. Random bad stuff and bad people are everywhere, so we just have to do our best to pay attention, but not let it limit us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

lollipop - no advice. I have the opposite problem. The last few times we've done it, my H has made it into a marathon sesh. Seriously - I do not need like 4 different positions in one night. I just want to finish things up so I can get to sleep. Definitely in a rut, but too tired and too over-touched to care. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

copperboom, I need to use my instant pot more. It really is pretty amazing. I cooked sweet potatoes in it yesterday and I think it took 15 minutes total. lollipop, we're in a rut too. I agree with taking charge, and maybe if you initiate it it will just be different from the start. dizzycooks, have so much fun! I wouldn't stress too much. My poor little guy bumped his face getting off the bed yesterday and had his first real bleeding episode. So much blood from the mouth. He was fine but it just looks so bad!
