Weeks Pregnant: 25+1
Baby is the Size of a: napa cabbage or baseball glove
Appointments: Nothing till May 6
Team? Green/blue/pink? Green
Rants/Raves? Rant: I just had a bad day the other day, when I learned I was on my last reglan refill. Rave: I can start to feel baby kick on the outside! H hasn't caught any yet, but I think it will be soon. Neither rant nor rave: My lab coat is almost at the point where I won't be able to button it up anymore. It pops open sometimes, lol.
How are you feeling? Not great, but okay? So, I am trying out just using the reflux med (omeprazole) instead of focusing on the nausea, since I believe my nausea stems from the reflux. So far, it's working. And I don't have to deal with the side effects of the reglan or the zofran, which is a huge benefit. I messaged my OB office to make sure this was okay, but I took omeprazole my last pregnancy, so I don't think it will be a problem.
GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing, if any? I hate laundry. The washing, the folding, the putting away, all of it! Even though I can watch my trash tv while I fold. IDK why I hate it so much.

Weeks Pregnant: 23 weeks today
Baby is the Size of a: bunch of grapes
Appointments: next one is 4/26
Team? Green/blue/pink? Blue 💙
Rants/Raves? I’m doing well. I’m still really tired but otherwise I’m doing ok. My weight gain has been really slow but between the morning sickness and Covid I’m not surprised. I’m eating much better now though but still don’t really feel hungry. But on the plus side I can feel movement all the time and DH has been able to feel him a few times too.
How are you feeling? Pretty good! Tired but I’ll take it.
GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing, if any? I hate cleaning the bathroom. I do it but it’s my least favorite chore. Plus I’m the only female and we have one main bathroom and preteen/teen boys can be gross!

Weeks pregnant: 25+1
Baby is the size of a: rutabaga
Appointments: two the first week of May
Team? Green/blue/pink: intended parents are team blue
Rants/raves: my 20 month old DD seriously sleeps so poorly. I know we have bad habits too. I also know we need to sleep train but man I just struggle with that. So we’re stuck. Anyone care to share their sleep training success stories? Bc I could use some motivation. So tired.
How are you feeling? I feel ok other than tired (see above). I’ve had a cold but it’s getting better. This baby is super active so that’s been different - he parties a lot in there.
GTKY: what chore do you absolutely hate doing, if any? I hate putting laundry away and I hate cleaning the refrigerator and throwing out old food 🤢

Weeks Pregnant: 21 Baby is the Size of a: endive Appointments: follow up US 4/27. They weren’t able to get a picture of one part of baby’s heart at the AS Team? Green/blue/pink? Pink Rants/Raves? Even after my AS this all still isn’t real to me. Not sure when that will change. We haven’t decided on a name yet so maybe when we do it will feel more real How are you feeling? Big and my back is starting to hurt. My youngest (almost 18 mo) is doing this thing where you pick her up and she’s a limp noodle then arches her back to get down. It is killing my back each time she does it GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing, if any? I’m with thatgolfb laundry is the worst. I don’t mind putting it in the washer but we air dry a ton of stuff so I hate sorting and hanging and then folding and putting away everything at the end . That’s why we normally leave the clean clothes in a basket and pull from it during the week

friendofdobby I meant to come back earlier with sleep training experience! I wouldn’t say it’s advice, because who knows if you will want to take it, lol. We started pretty early with both of mine, I would say around 6 months. So this may not apply for a 20 month old. Both girls were also in cribs in their own rooms around 7-8 weeks, so they were used to their own space. I would go in to feed them or when they cried. We didn’t follow a specific program. For both, we started with very short increments. 5 minutes. We would feed, change, cuddle, then put down while (usually) drowsy. They would usually fuss or cry during that time, but we would always go back in at that 5 minute mark if they were still upset. With DD1, we never got to increments longer than maybe 15 minutes? Before she was asleep. With DD2, it was never more than 10, she just was naturally a better sleeper. DD1 didn’t STTN till about 11 months (I remember because it was New Years Eve, lol), but I also didn’t night wean until 10 months, and I think that played a part. DD2 was sleeping through the night around 4-5 months. She night weaned herself, basically. I think it’s super kid dependent. And I’m sure a 20 month old will be more challenging because they are more mobile. I hope you can get some sleep!

Thank you fir sharing your experience thatgolfb. It’s helpful to hear that some kids don’t have to scream for a super long time before it clicks in. I think we would do an increment approach too. DD goes to sleep on her own okay, drowsy but awake. It’s middle of the night up every 2-4 hours where we need to do the training. She does sleep in her own crib.. I’m thankful for that. But because she’s such a shit sleeper DS (6 y/o) is in bed with us when he’s not with his dad, because he and DD share a room. Anyway, she’s cutting more teeth now and it’s extra atrocious but I’m hoping once we get back to normal with the teeth we may experiment with sleep.

Weeks Pregnant: 22+1
Baby is the Size of a: Red Bell Pepper ? I’ve never seen an 11 inch bell pepper...
Appointments: the first week in May
Team? Green/blue/pink? blue
Rants/Raves? Rant: DD came home early from school with a cold Thursday and has been home since. She seems completely fine most of the day and then will just be grumpy for a random couple hours and has an awful sounding post nasal drip cough. Rave: I started painting her new room. I love the color but am going to definitely need a third coat. I’m hoping to have it painted by the weekend. I’ve also started going through all of our saved clothes- we’ve decided we are done after this babe and it’s so nice to start getting some space back in our house. We’ve been saving stuff since DD started out growing it almost 7 years ago.
How are you feeling? Pretty good- tired/exhausted but that’s pretty normal for me. The baby is sitting low just like my DD did and I’ve started needing my support bands. I can’t stand for more than an hour max without major pain.
GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing, if any? Cleaning up after all our animals. We have 2 feral cats, 2 dogs and 10 chickens (6 full grown in the coop and 4 chicks in our garage). I love the animals but not cleaning up after them.

friendofdobby I hope the sleep gets better. I think I’ve blocked out how awful DD was. After I finally sleep trained her at night I had I think 6-9 months of good sleep before her new sleep issues started showing up but those go with her diagnosis (ASD) and we now are constantly in the ebb and flow of good/awful sleep. I can tell you what works for us if you’d like.

I can tell you what works for us if you’d like. Yes please, if you don’t mind sharing mrspantsSo we started with doing what felt like a lot but have been able to cut back and only pull it out when she’s in a long/difficult regression. We were using a sound machine, black out blinds and blackout curtains over those, a diffuser with lavender scent, her overhead fan, her room air conditioner (her room gets in the upper 70s/low 80s with the afternoon sun) set to 65 and then kids melatonin at bedtime for a week. If we go longer than a week with the melatonin it makes her sleep worse. Her current bedtime routine is sound machine, overhead fan, nightlights, 2 stories and a song/lullaby. We now know that she will react well to 1/4 of the kids pill (I chop them roughly into 4ths) and only use them when absolutely needed. She calls them her sleepy medicine and can tell when she needs one sometimes. She can also be the worst at waking up and not going back to sleep at night so now if she hasn’t had melatonin at bedtime and she wakes in the middle of the night (before 4am is my personal cutoff) she will get a quarter of melatonin and she’s usually back asleep within 30ish minutes.

Thank you mrspants. I truly do appreciate the sharing of experiences and tips. We use melatonin at a half dose for my 6y/o DS and it works so well for him. His issue is winding down to go to sleep. We will definitely be open to using it for DD when she gets old enough. It’s helpful to hear how you guys use it in MOTN if needed.
