That's the way H is! MH tried to take his training wheels off because he's excellent on the balance bike and H couldn't do it. Lol! We bought one for Charlie two years ago and they both just don’t like it. I still have it somewhere in the garage so maybe I’ll give it another shot S used the balance bike when he was little - maybe 18 months to 3 years. We got him his bike for his 3rd birthday and he never went on it again. B started using the balance bike a bit like 2 years ago but started really getting into it when Covid hit (so he was about 3.5). Honestly, he's way too big for it now, and I suspect C would be too big for most of them too. I think it's just comforting for B b/c he's used to it (Plus he's tiny)

My kids were never really into the balance bike. Both had a bike with training wheels and transitioned into a regular bike basically right when we took the training wheels off. A (3 years old) on the other hand has zero interest in any bike, scooter, ect. He either wants to run or sit and play in dirt.

C didn’t like the balance bike. I honestly don’t remember what we did when we took the training wheels off. My nephew though had them on for a long time and learned to get his balance riding in the grass since it forces you to go slower and it’s a softer fall.

Today was annoying. Actually the whole week has been. It’s mostly work crap. I may take a day off next week just to have a minute.

Matthew had a make up game tonight and they got creamed. A got there late from work and was on his phone the whole time and was aggravating me. Then the game ends and I go to help M get everything from the dugout and A was watching J and MJ. I come back and she's gone. I ask where she is and he said on the play ground. And she wasn't. She was all the way at the cession stand begging for candy. I'm still seeing red..

But the parking lot is right there and there was an ambulance and police because someone collapsed. And she could of easily wondered off towards the flashing lights. He acts like she's the boys age and is just fine. Even tonight at home. She can't be let in their closet because she rips everything down. I come out and ask where she is. "Oh in with the boys, they're getting pjs on" whyyyyy is she in there??? I had to hang up a bunch of clothes she ripped off.

That’s frustrating peachsmama, I’m sorry. My H is the opposite, he’s much more of a helicopter parent than I am. H took quite a while to ride the bike without training wheels. I couldn’t teach her though because our personalities clashed and it wasn’t good. Lots of crying/yelling. S will probably take forever to learn because she’s very timid. The kid is perfectly comfortable with allowing us to do everything for her.

Cadence still can't ride without training wheels, but we also haven't had time to take her out and teach her. When we first tried she fell once and was done. Same with the scooter. 🤷

peachsmama, I would be livid with him about the playground! She's way to little to be wandering without a watchful eye. I'm glad she didn't go to the parking lot.
